Anhui Police Officer Vocational College is one of the first batch of higher vocational colleges in Anhui Province established in June 2000 with the approval of the Anhui Provincial People's Government. It was established on the basis of the former Provincial Judicial School, Provincial Police School and Provincial Political and Legal Cadre School, and is administratively affiliated to the province. It is led by the Department of Justice and receives professional guidance from the Provincial Department of Education. It is the only higher vocational college for judicial police officers in the province. The college is located on the bank of the beautiful Dongpu Lake in Hefei City, adjacent to Qingxi Park and Luzhou Park Scenic Area. The college is divided into two campuses, the east and west, covering an area of 394.6 acres. It currently has more than 9,000 full-time higher vocational students. It is also responsible for police training, political rotation training and social vocational skills training for more than 10,000 police officers in the judicial administration system of the province. The college has five departments, one college and two departments (First Department of Law, Second Department of Law, Department of Police, Department of Public Administration, Department of Information Management, School of Marxism, Police Skills Training Department, and Basic Department), and enrolls 29 majors in higher vocational education. Among them, there are 3 national-level key construction majors, 7 national-controlled majors, 9 provincial-level and above key construction (demonstration, characteristic) majors, and 3 provincial-level high-level vocational majors. Starting from 2022, it will jointly cultivate undergraduate students in two majors: intellectual property and network engineering with Chizhou College. The college has made remarkable achievements in education and teaching. It has participated in and been approved for 1 national teaching achievement award, presided over 2 special prizes and 6 first prizes for provincial teaching achievement awards, and has 100 provincial and ministerial quality courses. In the past five years, the teachers of the college have won 2 first prizes, 5 second prizes, and 3 third prizes in the National Vocational College Teaching Ability Competition, and 12 first prizes in the Provincial Vocational College Teaching Ability Competition. , 16 second prizes, 13 third prizes, presided over 212 research projects at all levels, including the National Social Science Fund Project, the Humanities and Social Sciences Project of the Ministry of Education, and took the lead in the construction of the Key Laboratory of Life Sciences and Information Technology of the Ministry of Justice. Since the establishment of the school, more than 60,000 talents of various types have been sent to our province, and the vast majority of them have become the backbone of the province’s public, procuratorate, law and prison drug treatment units. A large number of heroic models have emerged among the graduates, including the national model prosecutor Wang Min, the national model judge Zhao Jiazhong, the first-class hero model of the Ministry of Justice Fu Jun, the national first-class hero model in the judicial administration system Wu Qixiang, and the national "May 4th" Youth Medal winner. Among the 56 representatives of Anhui Province attending the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2022, two representatives, Zhang Wenbo and Liu Xiaoni, are outstanding graduates of the college born in the 1980s.
