Anhui University of Technology is a provincial multidisciplinary university with engineering as its main discipline and a key university in Anhui Province. It is a university under the National Basic Capacity Construction Project for Colleges and Universities in the Central and Western Regions, a national pilot university for intellectual property reform, one of the first pilot universities for comprehensive reform in Anhui Province, a pilot unit for the reform of innovation autonomy in Anhui Province, one of the first pilot units in Anhui Province to grant scientific research personnel ownership or long-term use rights of scientific and technological achievements, and a key construction unit for the granting of doctoral degrees in Anhui Province. The school is located in Wuhu, a national open city. It began as Anhui Private Neisi Senior Vocational School in 1935. It has gone through the Wuhu Electric Motor Manufacturing School (affiliated to the former First Ministry of Machinery Industry), Wuhu Machinery School, Anhui Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Anhui Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, etc. It was approved as a master's degree granting unit in 2003 and renamed Anhui University of Technology in 2010. The total building area of the school is 757,300 square meters, and the total value of instruments and equipment is 849 million yuan. There are more than 18,700 full-time undergraduate students, more than 2,300 graduate students (including international students), and more than 1,800 faculty and staff, including more than 500 with senior professional and technical titles. The school has hired well-known scholars at home and abroad, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as part-time professors, and introduced high-level talents as discipline leaders. More than 130 people have won provincial talent projects and teaching masters (teams) and 209 people have won awards in provincial and above teacher teaching competitions, and gradually built a teaching and research team with rich teaching experience, high academic level, and strong scientific research capabilities. The school has 18 secondary colleges and continuing education colleges, including the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering. Relying on new engineering majors such as robotics engineering, data science and big data technology, artificial intelligence, and intelligent science and technology, it took the lead in establishing an artificial intelligence college in Anhui universities. Deepening the reform of personalized talent training with "more cross-disciplinary, more professional, more integrated, more personalized and more excellent", the school has more than 60 undergraduate majors, covering engineering, science, liberal arts, management, economics, law, art and other categories, including 19 national first-class professional construction points, 29 provincial first-class professional construction points, 16 national and provincial characteristic (brand) majors, 15 national and provincial comprehensive reform pilot majors, 10 majors have passed the professional certification of engineering education, and 5 majors have passed the certification of the new liberal arts major in the Yangtze River Delta; more than 80 national and provincial first-class courses have been approved; and more than 80 national and provincial first-class courses have been approved. There are 37 provincial-level projects related to the cultivation of outstanding and top-notch talents, 34 national and provincial-level "four new" research and practice projects; 183 projects of industry-university cooperation and collaborative education approved by the Ministry of Education; there are 13 national, provincial and school-level industrial colleges, among which the Robot Modern Industry College is the first batch of modern industrial colleges in the country, and the Automobile Modern Industry College is the first in the province; a national-level off-campus practical education base for college students has been established, and it will be selected as a national-level innovation and entrepreneurship education practice base in 2022; 1 second prize of the national undergraduate teaching achievement award and 108 provincial-level undergraduate teaching achievement awards have been approved. There are 17 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, 11 master's professional degree authorization categories, 6 self-established cross-disciplinary master's degree authorization points, 6 provincial-level industry-university-research joint training graduate demonstration bases, 2 provincial-level professional degree case libraries, and graduate teaching achievements have won 14 first prizes in Anhui Province Teaching Achievement Awards, and a total of 74 provincial-level graduate quality engineering projects have been approved. The school actively carries out scientific research. In the past three years, it has been approved for more than 71 national scientific research projects and more than 450 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects. It has won the Anhui Natural Science Foundation Outstanding Young Scholars Project for five consecutive years; it has won the first prize of Anhui Science and Technology Progress for three consecutive years, and won the second prize of the 8th Excellent Scientific Research Achievements of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education (Humanities and Social Sciences); it has been selected into the top 20 of the Anhui Province Invention Patent Top 100. The control science and engineering disciplines have been selected into the Anhui Province Peak Discipline Construction Plan, and mechanical engineering, chemistry, and textile science and engineering have been selected into the Anhui Province Application Peak Cultivation Discipline Construction Plan. The disciplines of engineering, chemistry, and materials science are among the top 1% of ESI disciplines in the world. Cooperate with Anhui Efort Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. to jointly build a national and local joint engineering research center (engineering laboratory), with 40 provincial and above scientific and technological innovation platforms such as the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Advanced Perception and Intelligent Control of High-end Equipment, the Wanjiang Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for High-end Equipment Manufacturing, and the Provincial Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of Design Art. The school adheres to the service orientation of "based on the local area, integrated into the Yangtze River Delta, and radiating the whole country". Focusing on the integration strategy of the Yangtze River Delta, it continuously deepens the cooperation between the school and the local government, the school and the enterprise, and the industry-university-research cooperation, serves and supports the strategic positioning of "three places and one region" and the goal of "seven strong provinces", and deeply promotes regional integration, school-enterprise integration, and industry-education integration. Establish strategic cooperative relations with 14 municipal and district local governments; co-build the Anhui University of Technology International Engineer College with Wuhu City, and strive to create a "international, engineering, enterprise, and diversified" characteristic talent training model reform demonstration zone, industry-university-research-use integrated technology incubation base; co-build the Anpu Robotics Industry Technology Research Institute and obtain approval for the first batch of new R&D institutions in Anhui Province. According to the idea of "school layout, college setting, and team squatting", promote the construction of "one college and one center", and currently have more than 10 centers (research institutes/laboratories) built. Take the lead in implementing the "deputy general manager of science and technology" selection mechanism, and currently have selected 28 outstanding teachers to serve as "deputy general managers of science and technology" of enterprises. Deepen school-enterprise cooperation, promote the integration of industry-university-research and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and the first batch of scientific and technological achievements of the school have been successfully invested. Established Wuhu Green Food Industry Research Institute Co., Ltd. with Wuwei City. Co-built Xuancheng Industrial Technology Research Institute, Additive Manufacturing Research Institute, and Artificial Intelligence Research Institute with local governments. Co-built the Excellent Engineers College (Chery College) with Chery Holding Group. Carried out in-depth cooperation in industry-education integration with large domestic well-known enterprises such as Conch Group, Anhui Forklift Group, China Communications Service Anhui Company, Baidu, Wuhu Changxin Technology, Conch Venture, Tianma Microelectronics, and Weipai Electronics. Established cooperative and exchange relations with more than 40 well-known universities in the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Ukraine, Malaysia and other countries and Taiwan, and actively carried out activities such as cooperative education, talent training and scientific research. The school is one of the top 50 universities with typical experience in graduate employment in the country, a demonstration university for innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students in Anhui Province, a provincial-level ideological and political construction pioneer university, and a provincial-level "double-base" construction demonstration university. It was approved as the first batch of provincial-level entrepreneurship colleges in Anhui Province, and was rated as an outstanding unit for graduate employment in the province in 2023.
