Anqing Medical College is located in Anqing City, which is known as the "Ancient Anhui Land, This Place is Suitable for City", on the banks of the Yangtze River and at the foot of Dalong Mountain. It is a local high-level skill-based university construction unit in Anhui Province, and is also one of the first "junior college to undergraduate" training units among the provincial junior colleges. It has jointly organized 4 "junior college to undergraduate" undergraduate majors with Anhui Medical University, and has been selected as a provincial training base for elderly care service professionals. Over the past 80 years, the school has adhered to the school-running philosophy of "scientific positioning, staggered development, improving connotation, and highlighting characteristics", adhering to the school motto of "benevolence, virtue, diligence, and excellence in industry to save the world", and has trained more than 50,000 senior application-oriented skilled talents. The school has a long history of running schools. The history of the school can be traced back to the "Provincial Lihuang Senior Midwifery Nursing Vocational School" in Anhui Province, which was born in the flames of the Anti-Japanese War in 1943. In 1945, the pharmacy major was opened, which pioneered pharmaceutical education in Anhui Province and was renamed "Anhui Lihuang Senior Medical Vocational School". In 1946, it moved to Hefei and was renamed "Anhui Provincial Advanced Medical Vocational School". Later, it moved to Anqing and was renamed "Anhui Provincial Anqing Advanced Medical Vocational School". In 1952, it was named "Anhui Province Anqing Health School". From 1958 to 1962, with the approval of the Anhui Provincial People's Committee, Anqing Medical College was established. It was located in the same site as Anqing Health School, and was managed and independently offered specialized education. In 1993, it started specialized education as the Anqing teaching point of Anhui Medical University Continuing Education College. In the same year, it celebrated its 50th anniversary with the first place in the total score of the provincial secondary health school evaluation. In 2002, it independently offered nursing and pharmacy higher vocational majors, and was upgraded to a junior college in 2007. Since 2011, the school has actively responded to the call of the Party Central Committee to support the development of the western region and national unity, and has hosted the Xinjiang secondary vocational class in the mainland. In 2015, as the Anqing Learning Center of Peking University Continuing Education College, it hosted undergraduate majors in pharmacy and nursing. In 2020, the school was approved as the first batch of "junior college to undergraduate" training units in Anhui Province. Over the past 80 years, the school has changed its campus four times, established five schools, and changed its name six times. It is the only public medical college in 64 counties (districts) in three provinces in the old revolutionary base area of Dabie Mountain. The school has a clear development positioning. It is based in the southwest of Anhui and the Dabie Mountain area, faces Anhui, serves the whole country, is based on medicine, highlights medicine, and takes the road of "medicine + medicine" and the combination of Chinese and Western medicine. It cultivates applied medical and health talents with "benevolence, learning, and dedication to the world", and makes the school a well-known and influential local skill-based high-level university in the province. The school has distinctive characteristics and has 8 teaching departments, including the School of Medicine, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Nursing, the School of Basic Medicine, the School of Public Basics, the School of Marxism, the School of Continuing Education, and the first clinical trial technology college in the country (Shuangshenggu Clinical Experiment Technology College). There are 21 directly affiliated hospitals, non-directly affiliated hospitals, and teaching hospitals, as well as nearly 200 off-campus internship and training bases. The school has a complete range of medical majors, including clinical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, preventive medicine, rehabilitation therapy technology, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation therapy technology, public health management, medical imaging technology, medical testing technology, pharmacy, drug operation and management, drug production technology, drug quality and safety, traditional Chinese medicine, drug preparation technology, biopharmaceutical technology, food inspection and testing technology, nursing, midwifery, elderly care and management, visual training and rehabilitation, optometry instrument technology, reproductive health management, health big data management and services, medicinal diet and diet therapy, cosmetics quality and safety, medical materials and applications, etc. 31 general junior college majors, and jointly opened with Anhui Medical University 4 junior college to undergraduate majors in nursing, pharmacy, rehabilitation therapy and traditional Chinese medicine. In recent years, the school has been both enrolled and employed, with more than 10,000 undergraduate and junior college students. Strong faculty The school headquarters has 95 senior professional titles (including 18 senior titles) and 169 master's degrees or above (including 5 doctors). It has 18 provincial teaching teams, 12 provincial teaching masters, 4 provincial excellent teachers, 22 provincial new teachers, 3 provincial professional leaders, and 38 provincial top talents in colleges and universities. It won a third prize in the "Chemical Experiment Technology" competition of the Higher Vocational Group of the National Vocational College Skills Competition, 14 provincial teaching achievement awards (including 1 special prize), 1 special prize in the provincial counselor competition, and 1 "Excellent Style Award" in the National College Counselor Quality and Ability Improvement Backbone Training Camp. The school with a leap in comprehensive strength is the first batch of pilot universities for the Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program of the Ministry of Education, and a construction unit of Anhui Province's local skilled high-level universities. It is a "National Civilized Unit", a national healthy school construction unit, a "Model Workers' Home" of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, a "Model Unit" of the National Red Cross, and a "National Advanced Collective" for Women's Contribution. Carry out cooperation and exchange activities with relevant universities and hospitals such as Shanghai Health Medical College, Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital, Suzhou Health Vocational College, and Guangzhou Health Vocational College.
