Anqing Vocational and Technical College is a comprehensive public higher vocational college. It is a national high-quality school for talent cultivation in rural revitalization, a national demonstration vocational education group cultivation unit, an excellent school for talent cultivation work evaluation of the Ministry of Education, a pilot unit of the modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education, and the first batch of local skill-based high-level university construction units in Anhui Province. It is a demonstration higher vocational college in Anhui Province, the first batch of typical demonstration schools for school-enterprise cooperation in Anhui Province, and a demonstration school for innovation and entrepreneurship education in Anhui Province. It is the 11th and 12th Anhui Provincial Civilized Unit, and was awarded the Anhui Provincial Civilized Unit Creation Top Ten Brands. The school currently has more than 14,000 full-time students. The campus covers an area of more than 1,000 acres and a building area of nearly 300,000 square meters. There are more than 200 internship and training bases, including 15 production-oriented training bases, 3 vocational education training bases supported by the central finance, 17 provincial demonstration experimental training centers, 4 provincial skill master studios, 7 provincial school-enterprise cooperation education practice bases, 1 provincial talent training model innovation experimental zone, and 4 provincial outstanding talent education and training plan projects. The school adheres to the optimization of professional structure around local industries. There are 38 majors in 8 major professional groups serving the development of Anqing's pillar industries, including machinery manufacturing, automotive engineering, electronic information, construction engineering, cultural tourism, textiles and clothing, financial logistics, agriculture, forestry and horticulture. There are 2 key majors supported by the Central Finance, 3 backbone majors recognized by the Ministry of Education, 4 provincial high-level majors, 10 provincial specialty majors, and 7 provincial comprehensive reform pilot majors. A three-level progressive key professional construction system at the national, provincial and school levels has been formed, and the professional groups fully cover the first industry and pillar industry in Anqing. The school currently has more than 800 full-time and part-time teachers, including nearly 300 full-time and associate professors and above, and nearly 350 doctors and masters.
