Anyang University is located in Anyang, a national historical and cultural city, the site of the Yinxu ruins, a world cultural heritage, and the birthplace of the Red Flag Canal spirit. The school was formerly the School of Humanities and Management of Anyang Normal University, established in 2003. In 2016, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be renamed Anyang University, an applied general undergraduate university.
