Baoding Electric Power Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1957. It is located in Baoding, Hebei, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is sponsored by State Grid Jibei Electric Power Co., Ltd. and its school business is guided by the Hebei Provincial Department of Education. It is the only public full-time power-related higher vocational college in Hebei Province. In 2012, State Grid Jibei Electric Power Co., Ltd. approved the establishment of a skills training center, which was co-located with Baoding Electric Power Vocational and Technical College. The college has formed a development situation in which higher vocational education and employee training are given equal importance and integrated and promoted. Over the past 60 years since its establishment, the college has trained and delivered tens of thousands of outstanding professional and technical talents for the country, and has made outstanding contributions to the regional economic and social development and the construction of the national power industry. The school has excellent conditions: the college currently has two campuses, the North Campus and the South Campus, covering an area of 270 acres and a building area of nearly 140,000 square meters. Among the 12 core indicators of teaching diagnosis and improvement, 11 indicators such as student-teacher ratio and average number of practice places per student are better than the median of national higher vocational demonstration schools. The 2018 Vocational Education Satisfaction Survey Report released by the National Joint Conference of Presidents of Higher Vocational Colleges shows that the college's education quality index ranks tenth among general higher vocational colleges in the country. Distinctive industry characteristics: The college has always been rooted in electricity, "born from electricity, relying on electricity, and strong because of electricity", forming a professional system and core competitiveness with "electricity" as its characteristic, and establishing its advantages in the field of energy and electricity. At the same time, the college runs schools for power companies, understands the new trends in power development, masters new knowledge and new technologies in electricity, and through the mutual integration of employee training and academic education, the resource advantages of enterprises can be fully utilized and the quality of talent training can be fully guaranteed. Perfect school-running functions: The college has 16 institutions, including 7 functional departments such as the Academic Affairs Department and the Student Management Department, and 9 business institutions such as the Electrical Engineering Department and the Power Engineering Department, with the functions of carrying out higher vocational education and skills training, skills appraisal, and technical services. There are currently 11 majors, including power plants and power systems, power supply and utilization technology, thermal power engineering technology, power generation operation technology, information security technology application, and software technology. Among them, power supply and utilization technology and thermal power engineering technology are national key majors. Strong faculty: As of December 2022, the college has 292 faculty members, including 127 postgraduates and above, 281 bachelor's degree and above, 108 associate senior professional and technical titles and above, and 150 full-time trainers and teachers. The college also hires corporate experts, well-known professors, and education experts with practical experience as part-time teachers all year round. The training facilities are complete: the college has 111 training rooms (fields), including the anti-electricity theft training room, the 10kV distribution station operation and maintenance training room, the relay protection training base, the transmission and distribution line training field, the 500kV substation simulation training room, the 600MW power plant simulation training room, the garbage/biomass power generation simulation training room, the virtual maintenance training room, the power generation equipment status monitoring and fault diagnosis laboratory, the instrument installation and maintenance training room, the information and communication training base, and the network equipment training room. Among them, the anti-electricity theft training room, the 10kV distribution station operation and maintenance training room, the relay protection training base, and the information and communication training base have reached the domestic leading level. The college has established several bases, including the State Grid Corporation of China's information and communication professional shared training, the State Grid Zhongxing Company electrical technicians training, the Chengde Thermal Power Group training, and the Hebei Agricultural University "Electrical" professional quality education practice. The college has been approved as the China AOPA civil drone pilot training institution and has been rated as the China Electricity Council's power industry drone inspection operator professional ability evaluation base. Good enrollment and employment: The college adheres to the idea of running a school with excellence and strict control of enrollment scale to ensure the quality of talent training and high standards of employment. There are more than 2,500 students on campus, and the students mainly come from 18 provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) such as Hebei Province and Shandong Province. In the past three years, the average employment rate of college graduates has remained above 97%, and the average agreement employment rate has reached more than 70%, ranking among the best in higher vocational colleges in the country. Graduates are mainly employed in state-owned and private power companies, among which more than half are signed by state-owned enterprises. In-depth school-enterprise cooperation: The college continues to deepen the integration of production and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and conducts "1+2" school-enterprise cooperation with Hebei Xinlong Technology Group. It has signed order training agreements with 7 industry enterprises such as Zhangjiakou Shengyuan Power Supply Service Company and Yuefeng Environmental Protection Power Company, and implemented the "modern apprenticeship system" talent training model to jointly cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents. The college took the lead in establishing the Hebei Electric Power Vocational Education Group with 36 enterprises and 9 colleges and universities, and successfully applied for the national-level vocational education power technology "double-qualified" teacher training base with North China Electric Power University. It has jointly established the "New Energy Joint Research Institute" with two enterprises including Guoneng United Power and five colleges including Hebei University of Technology, and has established good cooperative relations with more than ten enterprises including Guoneng Biopower Generation Group, Hebei Jiantou Xuanhua Thermal Power Company, Jinyu Jidong Cement (Tangshan) Company, Baoding Thermal Power Plant, etc. . At the same time, it actively carries out skill appraisal and evaluation services by using the qualifications of the National Vocational Skills Appraisal Station and the Skill Level Evaluation Center of State Grid Jibei Electric Power Co., Ltd. Since 2012, the college has conducted 486,000 employee training days and 56,000 appraisals and evaluations.
