Baoding University is a full-time general undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The school is located in Baoding City, Hebei Province, 30 kilometers away from Xiongan New Area. It has convenient transportation, beautiful environment and good location advantages. It has successively won the honorary titles of National Civilized Unit, Advanced Collective of Party Building Work in Higher Education Institutions of Hebei Province, Party Building Demonstration School of Higher Education Institutions of Hebei Province, and Demonstration University of Transformation and Development in Hebei Province. In 2016, the school was listed as a pilot college of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" Industry-Education Integration Development Project Planning Project by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Education. In 2021, it was identified as an applied undergraduate education standardization pilot project college by the National Standardization Administration, and ranked among the first echelon of local applied undergraduate colleges in the country. The school has a history of more than 100 years. Its predecessor was the "Baoding Primary Normal School" founded in 1904. In 1910, it was renamed "Zhili Second Primary Normal School", and in 1928, it was renamed "Hebei Provincial Second Normal School" with the province. In 1978, it was rebuilt into "Baoding Teachers College", merged with Baoding Education College in 1998, merged with Hebei Baoding Normal School in 1999, and upgraded to Baoding College in 2007. At present, the school's graduates have become the backbone of various industries such as basic education in Baoding, and have made important contributions to local education and economic and social development. The campus covers an area of 874 acres and has a construction area of 404,200 square meters. There are a total of 405 experimental training rooms for chemistry, biology, physics, electronics, mechanics and other categories. Among them, there are 3 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers. The modern training center with a construction area of nearly 50,000 square meters has been officially put into use. In order to further improve the skills of normal students, the school invested more than 7 million yuan to build a teacher education center. The library currently has 24 full-text databases such as the CNKI Academic Document Database and the VIP Science and Technology Journal Database. The school currently has 16,117 full-time students. There are 1,052 faculty and staff (655 full-time teachers), including 98 senior titles and 294 associate senior titles; 2 doctoral supervisors and 3 master supervisors. There is 1 national model teacher, 1 expert enjoying special allowances from the State Council, 1 national candidate for the "Hundred Thousand Talents Project" in the new century, and 23 provincial high-level talents such as experts enjoying special allowances from the provincial government. The school attaches great importance to the comprehensive quality training of students. As the chairman unit of the Karate Branch of the National University Sports Association, it hosted the 10th National University Karate Championship, which was widely praised by all walks of life.
