Beijing Information Vocational and Technical College was established in 1954. In 1954, in order to implement my country's first five-year plan and accelerate the development of New China's electronics industry, the Second Ministry of Machinery Industry established the "North China Fourth Industrial School" in Beijing's Jiuxianqiao Electronics Industrial Zone. In 1956, it was named "Beijing Radio Industrial School". Since its establishment, the school has trained a large number of electronic technical talents for the construction of the motherland and made positive contributions to the development of New China's electronic industry. In September 1999, in order to adapt to the needs of Beijing's socio-economic development and accelerate the training of information industry technology application talents, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Beijing Radio Industry School and Beijing Adult Electronic Information University merged to form Beijing Information Vocational and Technical College. In 2003, two national key technical secondary schools, Beijing Computer Industry School and Beijing Electronics Industry School, were merged into Beijing Information Vocational and Technical College, and higher vocational education continued to develop and grow. In 2021, the Beijing Electronic Industry Cadre School (Beijing Electronic Industry Party School) will be merged into the Beijing Information Vocational and Technical College, bringing new historical opportunities for the school to create new glory at a new starting point.
