Beijing Jiaotong Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general higher vocational school organized by the People's Government of Changping District, supervised by the Municipal Education Commission and registered by the Ministry of Education. The college was established in 1984. Its predecessor was the Changping Branch of Northern Jiaotong University. In 1999, it was renamed the Higher Vocational and Technical College of Northern Jiaotong University. In January 2005, with the approval of the Beijing Municipal People's Government, it was independently established as Beijing Jiaotong Vocational and Technical College. The college focuses on higher vocational education, and also provides educational services such as continuing education, skills training and appraisal. The college covers an area of about 190,000 square meters and a building area of more than 100,000 square meters. There are five teaching departments (departments) including the Road and Bridge Department, the Rail Transit Department, the Automobile Department, the Management Department and the Basic Department. It has 27 general higher vocational majors, forming five major professional groups: digital city construction and management, rail transit, digital art, automotive computer, and urban service. Among them, the urban rail transit professional group was approved as a high-level backbone professional group with Beijing characteristics. In 2019, the college became the first batch of pilot colleges of the "1+X" certificate project of the Ministry of Education and obtained the first batch of "1+X" certificates from the Ministry of Education. The college strongly supports the modernization of practical teaching equipment, pays attention to students' vocational skills training, expands employment competitiveness, strengthens professional training internships and social practice activities, adheres to the "double certificate" training method that organically combines education with professional certificate training, and improves the quality of training practical talents. There are 11 professional group internship training centers, including 3 special training centers supported by the central government and 2 special training centers supported by local finance; 1 employment and entrepreneurship center, 49 training rooms; 2 Beijing-style high-level training bases and 1 Beijing virtual simulation training base. There are 52 off-campus industry-university cooperation enterprise internship bases. Among the full-time teachers in the college, 38.1% have senior professional titles, 88.89% have master's degrees or above, and 80.85% have dual-qualified professional teachers with front-line production practice experience. There are 1 Beijing teaching master, 1 Beijing vocational education master, 1 Beijing professional leader, 3 Beijing excellent teachers, 26 Beijing excellent young backbone teachers, 3 Beijing youth talent training programs, and 1 municipal excellent teaching team. The college adheres to the school-running orientation of "based in Changping, facing Beijing, serving regional economic development and transportation industry", and has provided a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents for the economic and social development of the capital region. The college has continuously increased school-enterprise cooperation, and has established in-depth cooperation with 27 enterprises including Beijing Subway Operation Co., Ltd., Beijing-Hong Kong Subway Co., Ltd., Glodon Technology Co., Ltd., China Resources Land Property Management Co., Ltd., Alibaba International Station, etc. In the past few years, the employment rate of graduates has remained above 95%, and the employment rate of key majors has reached 100%, achieving a win-win situation for the college, students, enterprises and society.
