Beijing Peili Vocational College was established on the basis of the former Beijing Peili Vocational University with the approval of the Beijing Municipal People's Government and the record of the Ministry of Education. It is a full-time private ordinary college under the jurisdiction of the city that independently issues nationally recognized academic qualifications and carries out higher vocational education (junior college). The college has 9 departments, 29 higher vocational education majors, and more than 2,000 students. On April 20, 2017, General Secretary Xi Jinping wrote back to our college: "'It takes ten years to grow trees, and a hundred years to cultivate people.' Beijing Peili Vocational College takes 'hands and brains together, creative analysis' as its school motto, cares about the country, works hard, inherits and carries forward the vocational education ideas advocated by the old principals Rewi Alley and Hogg, and carefully cultivates a large number of talents for China's socialist modernization construction." On April 12, 2008, Premier Wen Jiabao wrote the school motto "hands and brains together, creative analysis" for our college and replied to the students in his busy schedule. The affirmation and praise of the leaders of the Party and the country pointed out the school-running direction and historical mission of the college in the new era, and gave great education, encouragement and encouragement to all teachers and students of the college. The predecessor of the college was Peili Vocational University, which was founded in May 1983. It is one of the earliest private universities established during my country's reform and opening up. Its history can be traced back to the Peili School founded by Rewi Alley during the Anti-Japanese War of the last century. The establishment and construction of Peili Vocational University received strong support from international friends and famous social activist Rewi Alley. He proposed and was approved by the Beijing authorities to change the name of the school to Peili Vocational University, and served as the first honorary president of our school together with Ma Haide. In 1984, Rewi Alley personally determined the name of our school as Peili Vocational University. The reason for naming it "Peili" is, first, to commemorate its predecessor Joseph Perry, and second, it contains the meaning of cultivating talents for the dawn of China. Rewi Alley came to China in 1927, participated in the first international Marxist study group, and established contact with the Communist Party of China. His residence became a meeting point and refuge for the party's underground work. He did a lot of work for China's war of resistance and the construction, education, and propaganda of the new China. Comrade Deng Xiaoping called him a "great internationalist fighter", an old fighter, old friend, and old comrade of the Chinese people. The college has put unified enrollment quotas in 26 provinces, municipalities (autonomous regions) across the country, and uniformly enrolls students in accordance with the regulations of the college admissions offices of provinces, municipalities (autonomous regions). The college's majors meet the needs of the talent market and have distinctive characteristics, providing suitable education for students who are willing to apply. The college actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation, and has established inter-school exchange and cooperation relations with universities in many countries such as Spain, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, signed inter-school cooperation agreements, and carried out and implemented international cooperation projects. The college's international transformation has made new breakthroughs, and the Rewi Alley International Cultural Exchange Center, the International Talent Training Base, and the Talented Class for Studying Abroad have been established, and it has made every effort to build the college into a national cultural education and exchange platform. The college has been approved to recruit international students. In line with the national "Belt and Road" strategic development, the college recruits international students from more than 20 countries to receive academic education or language training in our college. Carry out the reform of the teaching model of "domestic" + "international" dual training, actively promote the training of "high-end, characteristic, and international" professional talents, and promote the construction of international higher vocational education talent training bases. The college cooperates with counterpart colleges in Spain, the United Kingdom, Japan and other countries to carry out international projects for junior college to undergraduate and junior college to master's degree. Based on cultivating students' international vision, competitiveness and innovative spirit, the international cooperation projects have achieved new results. Every year, a group of students study for undergraduate and master's degrees in Japan, Spain and the United Kingdom, or go to the United States and other countries for paid internships. So far, the college has trained and delivered more than tens of thousands of practical talents to the society, which has been welcomed and praised by all sectors of society. The employment rate of college graduates has reached about 97% over the years, with high employment quality. Every year, a group of graduates are hired by many large enterprises and commercial banks. Since 2001, the college has held six "Spring Bud" college classes, self-raised or absorbed social funds to help girls with excellent character and learning and poor families complete their college studies, changing their lives. It has been commended many times by the All-China Women's Federation and the China Children and Teenagers Foundation. In order to enhance students' core professional competence and employment competitiveness and broaden employment channels, the college has built 52 on-campus training rooms to meet the training needs of students of various majors. Since its establishment, the college has achieved outstanding results in running schools and has been commended and rewarded by the education authorities many times.
