Beijing Vocational College of Economics and Management (Beijing Institute of Management) is a public full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Beijing Municipal People's Government, registered by the Ministry of Education, and supervised by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. In February 2024, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, and Hebei Provincial Department of Education decided to establish the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Vocational Education Reform Demonstration Park based on the Gu'an campus of the school. The history of the school can be traced back to the Beijing Municipal Economic Commission Staff Education Teacher Training School established in 1979, which was renamed Beijing Economic Management Cadre College in 1984. In 2003, Hebei Yuandong Vocational and Technical College (formerly North China Petroleum Staff University) was transferred and merged into Beijing Economic Management Cadre College. In the same year, the former State Economic and Trade Commission established Beijing Manager College at Beijing Economic Management Cadre College. In 2006, the school was transformed into a general college and renamed Beijing Economic Management Vocational College. In October 2012, the school's affiliation was transferred from the Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission to the Municipal Education Commission.
