Beijing Vocational College of Labor and Social Security is a full-time general college approved by the Beijing Municipal People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. The administrative department is the Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and the education department is the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. The school was established in 1985 and was restructured and renamed Beijing Vocational College of Labor and Social Security in 2006. Its predecessor was Beijing Labor Management Cadre College and Beijing Planning Labor Management Cadre College. In 2010, it became a national key higher vocational college construction college. In 2014, it passed the national key school construction acceptance organized by the Ministry of Education and obtained "excellence". In 2015, the elderly service and management major was approved as the second host unit of the national teaching resource library construction. In 2019, it was selected as a national dual-college and Beijing's characteristic high-level vocational colleges. The elderly service and management major was selected as the first batch of Beijing's characteristic high-level backbone majors, and the elderly service and management major teaching team was selected as the "first batch of national vocational education teacher teaching innovation teams" by the Ministry of Education, becoming the host unit of the national human resources management professional teaching resource library. In 2020, the Beijing Human Resources Service Vocational Education Group, which was led by the school, was approved as a national model vocational education group (alliance) training unit, and undertook the quality improvement and excellence training project of the Ministry of Education. The school has two campuses in the north and south, with a total area of 268 acres. It has 6 secondary colleges including the School of Labor Economics and Management, the School of People's Livelihood and Welfare, the School of Urban Safety, the School of Basic Sciences, the School of Marxism, and the School of Continuing Education, and offers nearly 20 general higher vocational majors. The school's graduate employment rate has remained above 99% for many years, the employment rate of key majors is 100%, and the employment rate of professional counterparts is 94.47%. It has been rated as a "model employment center for colleges and universities in Beijing" by Beijing. The school carries out a high-end technical and skilled talent training program. After receiving two years of high-quality high school education at Beijing No. 11 School, students will receive three years of vocational education and go to Beijing University of Technology, Capital University of Economics and Business, Capital Medical University and other universities to study for undergraduate degrees. At the same time, students can choose to go to Malaysia's New Era University College, Taiwan's Shude University of Science and Technology and many other universities for further studies, and can recommend students to study in well-known universities in Europe, America, Australia, Canada and other countries.
