Bengbu University of Technology is an undergraduate college with economics and management as its main subjects, covering six major disciplines: literature, science, engineering, and art. The school was founded in June 2003. Its predecessor was the School of Business of Anhui University of Finance and Economics. It is a full-time undergraduate independent college run by Anhui University of Finance and Economics. The school obtained the right to confer bachelor's degrees in 2012. In March 2020, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was officially converted to Bengbu University of Technology. The school is located on the east side of Tushan Scenic Area, Yuhui District, Bengbu City, covering an area of 1,000 acres. The building area is 260,000 square meters, with a total value of 33 million yuan for teaching and research equipment. It has language rooms, basic computer laboratories, and various professional and interdisciplinary laboratories such as financial investment, accounting informationization, university physics, accounting manual, and advertising design. It has purchased experimental training software such as UFIDA, Tonghuashun, Foster, Shangdao, Ruisi Data, Fangyu VTS-M, and Zhiyi, which can fully meet the experimental training requirements of various majors; the library has a building area of 22,000 square meters, with 7 book lending rooms and more than 20 service units such as intensive book stacks, seminar rooms, and lecture halls. There are more than 1 million paper and electronic books, and the number and variety of books and digital resources are sufficient. The library environment is elegant and the facilities are first-class, which can provide convenient document information services for teachers and students; it has a high-speed network system, full-coverage monitoring and broadcasting systems, etc., and all kinds of facilities are complete and reasonably laid out, which can fully meet the needs of talent training. The school has nine teaching units, including the School of Accounting, School of Economics and Finance, School of Management, School of Finance and Auditing, School of International Business, School of Humanities and Arts, School of Computer and Data Engineering, School of Marxism, and Department of Physical Education. It has 31 undergraduate majors in six disciplines, including accounting, finance, financial management, business administration, computer science and technology, data science and big data technology, labor relations, and cross-border e-commerce, forming a multi-disciplinary coordinated development discipline and professional system with "economics and management as the leading discipline and literature, art, science, and engineering as the extension". In recent years, it has been approved to build four provincial first-class professional construction sites, four provincial characteristic majors, and three provincial comprehensive reform pilot majors. The school currently has 483 full-time teachers, of which 39% are teachers with senior professional titles; 76% have a master's degree or above; nearly 20% are dual-qualified teachers; many teachers have an education background in 985 universities such as Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University, and University of Science and Technology of China, and have studied abroad in Australia, Sydney University, City University of Hong Kong, University of York in the United Kingdom, Waseda University in Japan, etc.; there are 5 provincial teaching masters, 3 provincial online teaching masters, 13 provincial teaching teams, 17 provincial teaching rookies, and 3 provincial online teaching rookies. There are currently 9,300 students on campus, and nearly 20,000 graduates have been sent to the society since its establishment. Since its establishment, the school has increased its efforts in teaching and scientific research innovation and continuously consolidated the foundation for educating people. In recent years, more than 120 scientific research projects at or above the provincial level have been approved, including 7 National Social Science Funds, 2 National Natural Science Foundations, and 3 Humanities and Social Science Projects of the Ministry of Education; more than 1,000 academic papers have been published in various journals at all levels. A total of 196 provincial quality engineering projects of various types have been approved, including 10 teaching achievement awards, 1 online outstanding teaching achievement award, 13 teaching teams, 6 provincial major teaching reform research projects, 3 outstanding talent education and training plans, and 9 online teaching excellent classes. In the process of running the school, the school has always adhered to the market-oriented approach, closely focusing on the goal of cultivating applied talents, constantly innovating talent training models, and adhering to the connotative development path. Through rigorous teaching, quality-oriented, outstanding characteristics, innovation, and practice, the school has taken multiple measures to improve the quality assurance system for talent training, strengthen the cultivation of students' innovative spirit and practical ability, and continuously improve students' comprehensive quality and talent training quality. In the past five years, students have won more than 800 provincial and above awards in various disciplines at all levels, including 5 international awards and 166 national awards. In the National Management Decision Simulation Competition, the College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition, the National College Student Human Resources Management Knowledge and Skills Competition, the College Student Advertising Art Competition and other activities, they have repeatedly won national awards, and the level of participation and the number of winners have increased significantly. In particular, it won 6 special prizes and 7 first prizes in the national finals of the Management Decision Simulation Competition. The total number of awards and the level of awards ranked among the top universities in the country. This event has become a characteristic brand event of the school. The school strengthened its connotation construction and took multiple measures to improve the quality of talent training. Its social recognition and reputation for running schools have been continuously improved. In 2010, it was awarded the title of "Advanced Independent College of Anhui Province". In 2015 and 2016, it ranked among the top 4 high-level independent colleges in China for two consecutive years. Among them, teaching and scientific research efficiency, teacher innovation ability, and graduate quality all ranked in the top 5. In 2016, the school party committee was awarded the honorary title of "Advanced Grassroots Party Organization" by the Education Working Committee of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee; in 2020, it won the "National Free Blood Donation Promotion Award Unit Award".
