Capital Medical University was founded in 1960. It is a key university in Beijing and a joint institution of Beijing Municipal Government, National Health Commission and Ministry of Education. The late famous urology expert, academician of the two academies, and vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Professor Wu Jieping, was the first president.
