Changchun Normal College was founded in 1962. Its predecessor was Changchun No. 36 Middle School. In 1985, it started to offer kindergarten teacher majors. In 1989, it was renamed Changchun Infant Teachers School. In 2002, it began to cooperate with Changchun Normal University to offer a "3+2" five-year junior college preschool education. In October 2015, with the approval of the Jilin Provincial Government, the former Changchun Infant Teachers School and the former Changchun Special Education Normal School merged to form Changchun Normal College, which is under the management of the Changchun Municipal Education Bureau. The nature of the school is a general higher vocational college. It is currently the only normal college in Jilin Province. The school is located in the Changchun Vocational Education Park in Nong'an Economic Development Zone (Helong Town), Changchun, Jilin Province, covering an area of 342,900 square meters and a construction area of 110,600 square meters. It has high-standard teaching buildings, art buildings, gymnasiums, student apartments, catering centers and other teaching and living places. It has more than 180 halls (rooms) including dance studios, painting studios, rehearsal halls, piano rooms, internship and training simulation rooms, and the total value of teaching equipment is 36.559 million yuan. The school currently has 8,270 full-time students, 342 faculty and staff, 106 full and associate professors, 115 provincial and municipal dual-qualified teachers, 26 municipal backbone teachers, and 6 provincial and municipal professional leaders and provincial higher education experts. The school has 5 colleges and 24 majors. In recent years, the school has adhered to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, taking moral education as the foundation, improving quality as the main line, and serving the society as the purpose. Adhering to the school motto of "unity of knowledge and action, ingenuity and love", adhering to the dual attributes of "professional + normal", based in Changchun, serving Jilin, radiating across the country, focusing on cultivating educators for early childhood enlightenment, engineers who reshape the lives of special children, is the main training base for preschool education and special education teachers in Jilin Province, and is known as the growth hall of "cradle teachers of the new era".
