Changchun Vocational College of Information Technology was established in March 2005. It is a general college approved by the People's Government of Jilin Province, registered by the Ministry of Education, and included in the national unified enrollment plan. It has the qualification to independently issue graduation certificates. The school focuses on information technology, and has comprehensive development in engineering, management, and economics. The teaching model and talent training work have been fully affirmed by the Jilin Provincial Department of Education and the Ministry of Education. In September 2010 and September 2015, it passed the talent training work evaluation of the Ministry of Education, and in 2011, it passed the ideological and political education work evaluation of college students by the Jilin Provincial Department of Education. The school is located in Changchun, the spring city in the north. The campus area is 340,000 square meters, the building area is 177,000 square meters, and the total value of teaching equipment is 41.03 million yuan. It currently has 32 enrollment majors for enrollment in 8 provinces (regions) across the country. In recent years, the school's graduates' initial graduation destination implementation rate and the employment rate in the province have been above 80% and 64% respectively. The school consists of eight colleges, three departments and three divisions: School of Computer Science, School of Management, School of Digital Media, School of Automotive and Electrical Engineering, School of Applied Technology, School of Aeronautics, ZTE NC College, School of Artificial Intelligence, Department of Communication Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Nursing, Basic Teaching Department, Department of Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research Department, and Five-Year Vocational Education Department. The school’s education has shown a good trend of healthy and rapid development. The school has been awarded the title of "Advanced Unit for Spiritual Civilization Construction in Changchun University System" by the Propaganda Department of Changchun Municipal Party Committee and Changchun University Working Committee for many consecutive years, and the title of "Excellent Student Management Group in Changchun University Civilization Cup Competition" for ten consecutive years. It has won the titles of "Top 100 Employment Demonstration of Private Universities in China in 2010", "Executive Director Unit of the First Professional Committee of Vocational Education Industry-Education Integration of China Software Industry Association", "Advanced Unit of Education Informatization in Jilin Province", "Demonstration University of Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform in Jilin Province", and "Advanced Unit of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Jilin Province". In 2019, it was identified as the second batch of 1+X certificate system pilot colleges in Jilin Vocational Colleges; in 2020, it was identified as a training base for digital economy talents in Jilin Province; in 2021 and 2022, the student party branch was rated as the first batch of "Provincial Party Building Model Branch" and the third batch of "National Party Building Model Branch" by the Provincial Education Working Committee and the Ministry of Education; in 2023, it was identified as a university for implementing the reform of the qualification of primary and secondary school teachers for education graduate students and normal students without examination.
