Changchun Vocational and Technical College is located in Changchun, the city of spring in the north. It is a public comprehensive vocational and technical college with higher vocational education as the main focus and coordinated development of social training and certification education. The school's history can be traced back to Changchun Commercial School in 1952. In 2000, the Changchun Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government integrated 9 secondary vocational schools to establish Changchun Senior Vocational and Technical School; in 2002, it was upgraded to a higher vocational college and renamed Changchun Vocational and Technical College; in 2007, the school passed the national assessment of talent training for higher vocational colleges and won excellence; in October 2010, it became one of the 100 national exemplary higher vocational colleges. In 2019, the school was identified by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as a high-level professional group construction unit of the "China's Characteristic High-level Vocational Schools and Professional Construction Plan" A-level. The school currently has three campuses: Satellite, Longjia, and Century. The school covers an area of 1,034.71 acres, with a building area of 363,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 314.786 million yuan, and the library has a collection of more than 1.37 million books (including electronic books). At present, there are 12 teaching units including the School of Information, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Automotive Engineering, the School of Food and Biology, the School of Tourism, the School of Business, the School of Modern Agriculture, the School of Art, the Department of Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research, the Department of Vocational Foundation, the Training College, and the School of Double Innovation. There are 11,006 full-time students and 1,148 faculty and staff. The school currently has 1 national demonstrative vocational education group construction project, 7 vocational education groups in Jilin Province and Changchun City, 42 national, provincial, municipal and school apprenticeship pilot majors, and 14 industrial colleges; in the past five years, students have won 51 awards in the National Vocational College Skills Competition, including 5 first prizes, 12 second prizes, and 33 third prizes. Students won 7 awards in the National College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The school actively serves the local economic construction and continuously improves its scientific research level. In the past five years, the school has undertaken 46 scientific research projects at the provincial and ministerial levels or above, teachers have published 1,180 papers, and 487 patents have been authorized, including 70 invention patents. In terms of technical services, the school connects with the construction of six major industrial bases in Jilin Province and Changchun City, including Internet of Vehicles, intelligent manufacturing, aerospace information, smart agriculture, smart commerce and cloud computing application software, and provides technical services. The average annual technical service and training funds received are 11.4314 million yuan.
