Changsha Vocational and Technical College is a full-time higher vocational college sponsored by the Changsha Municipal People's Government and supervised by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. It is located in the Xiangjiang New District of Hunan. The school has a long history of running schools. Its predecessor was the Liuyang Provincial Normal School founded by Tan Sitong's wife Li Run and others in 1902. Former General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Hu Yaobang, General Yang Yong of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and other comrades have studied in our school. Former Vice Chairman of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Tan Zhongchi is an outstanding alumnus of our school. The school has about 11,000 students and nearly 600 faculty and staff. The proportion of full-time teachers with graduate degrees is 57.57%. The school is the first batch of pilot schools for the construction of digital campuses in vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education, the chairman unit of the National Lei Feng Spirit Vocational Education Alliance, the deputy director unit of the National Higher Vocational College Party Committee Secretary Forum, the central government's training base construction project unit, and the central government's professional service industry capacity building project unit. The school has set up the School of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, the School of Automotive Engineering, the School of Information Engineering and Business, the School of Architectural Engineering, the School of Special Education, and the School of Preschool Education. It offers 28 majors, including intelligent control technology, mechanical manufacturing and automation, mechatronics technology, industrial robot technology, automobile inspection and maintenance technology, new energy vehicle technology, automobile intelligent technology, automobile technical service and marketing, computer network technology, software technology, Internet of Things application technology, big data technology, cross-border e-commerce, big data and accounting, construction engineering technology, garden engineering technology, construction project management, visual communication design, engineering cost, special education, preschool education, and early education. The Ministry of Education's "Action Plan for the Innovation and Development of Higher Vocational Education (2015-2018)" recognizes mechanical manufacturing and automation, automobile application and maintenance technology, and special education as key majors. Eight majors, including industrial robots and intelligent control technology, have been shortlisted for the Ministry of Education's 1+X certificate system pilot project. Two majors, new energy vehicle technology and mechatronics technology, have been selected as the first batch of pilot units for the cooperation and construction of professional cooperation in the integration of industry and education by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Modern equipment manufacturing and services, smart business services, and special education professional groups were selected as first-class specialty groups in Hunan Province; the mechanical manufacturing and automation professional group and the special education professional group were selected as the A-level construction unit of the "Chuyi" high-level higher vocational professional group in Hunan Province. The special education team was selected as the third batch of national vocational education teacher innovation teams, and built 3 provincial teaching teams such as "mechanical manufacturing and automation", and 4 provincial vocational education professional teaching resource libraries such as "national cultural inheritance and innovation library-Lei Feng spirit inheritance and innovation". 2 textbooks were selected as the "14th Five-Year Plan" national planning textbooks for vocational education. In recent years, the school has passed the evaluation of the Ministry of Education's school-running level and talent training level at a high level, and "effectively" passed the provincial review of teaching quality diagnosis and improvement. The school insists on deepening the integration of production and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and is committed to building "schools in parks, factories in schools", and promoting the organic connection of "parks, enterprises, schools, production, learning and research". It took the lead in establishing the Changsha Industrial Park Vocational Education Group and was selected as the "Chuyi" Demonstration Vocational Education Group. The school has established a national key field of information and innovation industry industry-education integration community, and co-built a new generation of information technology public training center with Tuowei Information and Kaihong Zhigu. It has carried out school-enterprise cooperation with more than 200 companies such as Zoomlion Heavy Industry, Sany Group, Tencent Cloud Computing (Changsha), and established more than 120 training bases. The school and enterprises have jointly built the "BYD Benchmarking Industry College", "Changsha Artificial Intelligence Industry Technology Research Institute", "Shanhe Intelligent-Construction Machinery Modern Industry College", "Changzhi Yuanda Housing Industry College", and "Omarco Industry College". The project of the engineering machinery intelligent manufacturing industry-education integration training base was established as the "Chuyi" industry-education integration training base. The school is the only school in the province that offers special education majors at the higher vocational level. It has three higher vocational education majors for the disabled, including automobile inspection and maintenance technology, computer network technology, and handicraft design and production. The "limited isolation, unlimited integration" education model proposed by the school has been widely recognized by the domestic special education community. The school has trained more than 5,000 special education and higher vocational education professionals for the disabled. The school is the only special education teacher training base in Hunan Province, and a project unit of the "Second Phase Construction of Special Education Schools" of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, and the China Disabled Persons' Federation. Relying on its unique advantage of being located in the hometown of Lei Feng, the school took the lead in the national education community to propose the concept of cultivating "Lei Feng-style professionals", established the "Lei Feng Professional Spirit Research Base", built the first Lei Feng Spirit Vocational Education Practice Teaching Base in the country, and initiated the establishment of the National Lei Feng Spirit Vocational Education Alliance. The "Four Integrations, Four Strengths, and Four Connections" Training Model of Lei Feng Spirit won the Special Prize of the Hunan Provincial Vocational Education Provincial Teaching Achievement Award. The educational experience of the "Lei Feng-style Professional Cultivation Project" was included in the "Golden Ideas" of Hunan Province to contribute to reform and tackle tough problems. The school adheres to the overall leadership of the Party, promotes the "one integration and two highs" of party building and career development, and establishes national model branches, provincial "benchmark departments", and provincial "model branches". In recent years, the school's school-running level and influence have been continuously improved. Students participated in the Hunan Vocational College Skills Competition, and their comprehensive scores ranked among the top ten higher vocational colleges in the province. In 2023, they won 1 first prize in the Big Data Application Development Competition and 1 first prize in the Digital Art Design Competition of the National Vocational College Skills Competition, and won the honorary title of Excellent Organization of the National Competition. The comprehensive employment rate of students reached more than 90%, and the employment rate of counterparts exceeded 70%, and they won 1 gold medal in the China International College Student Innovation Competition.
