Changzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College, formerly known as Changzhou Light Industry Vocational and Technical College, is a public full-time general college under the jurisdiction of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. It is a construction unit of Jiangsu Province's high-level vocational colleges with Chinese characteristics and a model vocational college in Jiangsu Province. The school is located in Changzhou, south of the Yangtze River and on the shore of Taihu Lake. It is adjacent to the Spring and Autumn Yancheng, which is rich in humanities and has a long history. It is located in the Changzhou Higher Vocational Education Park, which integrates teaching, scientific research, training, vocational skills appraisal and social services. The school was founded in 1958 and has a history of more than 60 years. Its predecessor was Changzhou Private Qingshan Junior High School founded in 1958 and Changzhou Light Chemical Industry Secondary Technical School founded in 1963. After the merger of the two schools, they used the names of Changzhou Light Industry Technical School and Changzhou Light Industry School. In June 2002, with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, it was upgraded to Changzhou Light Industry Vocational and Technical College. In 2018, in order to adapt to the development of social economy, the school was renamed Changzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College from Changzhou Light Industry Vocational and Technical College to Changzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College with the approval of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, and was registered by the Ministry of Education in May 2019.
