Chengdu Neusoft University is a private general college approved by the Ministry of Education and funded by Neusoft. In 2003, with the approval of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, Chengdu Neusoft Information Technology Vocational College was established to carry out higher vocational education; in 2003, the school was identified by the Ministry of Education as one of the first 35 national exemplary software vocational and technical colleges; in 2011, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded to Chengdu Neusoft University, becoming the first independent private undergraduate college in Sichuan Province. In 2015, it passed the bachelor's degree evaluation of newly established undergraduate colleges; in 2016, it became the president unit of the Sichuan Private Education Association; in 2021, it successfully passed the undergraduate teaching work qualification evaluation of ordinary colleges and universities, becoming the first private college in Sichuan Province to pass the evaluation. The school is located in the "Dujiangyan-Qingcheng Mountain National AAAAA-level Tourist Scenic Area", a world natural and cultural heritage site in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The air is fresh and the environment is beautiful. There are more than 20,000 students on campus. The school currently has 12 teaching institutions, and its disciplines cover five disciplines: engineering, management, art, literature, and medicine. It has a total of 31 undergraduate majors, recruiting students from 30 provinces and cities across the country, and 2 higher vocational college majors recruit students from Sichuan. At the level of education, undergraduate education is the main focus, supplemented by characteristic higher vocational education, and continuing education, international student education, and graduate education are actively carried out. At the beginning of its establishment in 2003, the school clearly defined its application-oriented school-running orientation as a service industry and regional economic development. Over the past 20 years, the school has established an industry-education integration and application-oriented school-running system with the concept of "education creates student value", formed a school-enterprise cooperation, collaborative and win-win operation mechanism, and implemented the TOPCARES integrated talent training model throughout the school. It has trained nearly 50,000 graduates for the society, and the quality of talent training has been widely recognized by employers and all sectors of society. In 2016, the school became one of the pilot universities in Sichuan Province for overall transformation and reform towards application-oriented. The school established the Student Office & Venture Office (SOVO) in 2003 to explore the integration of innovation and entrepreneurship education into the entire process of talent training. Since 2014, SOVO has successively obtained a number of national, provincial and municipal qualifications and honors, including the provincial pilot unit for comprehensive reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, the provincial college student innovation and entrepreneurship club, the demonstration university for deepening the construction of innovation and entrepreneurship education bases, the Chengdu innovation and entrepreneurship carrier (nursery), the provincial makerspace, the Chengdu innovation landmark, etc., and successfully registered the national makerspace in 2020. The school closely focuses on the goal of cultivating international talents and has always been committed to providing students and graduates with a variety of academic and non-academic study abroad, as well as overseas exchanges, internships and work opportunities. At present, the school has established extensive cooperation with universities in many developed countries and regions such as North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia, including the University of Nottingham in the UK, Adelaide University in Australia, Letterkenny Institute of Technology in Ireland, and the Florence Academy of Fine Arts in Italy. More than 60 prestigious universities and companies have established good cooperative relations, and exchange learning activities between students and well-known foreign universities are carried out for students, and graduates are provided with a reliable study abroad platform and overseas employment consulting services. Relying on more than 300 school-enterprise cooperation units, the provincial characteristic demonstration software college, the provincial modern industry college and several provincial off-campus practice bases for college students, the school has built a talent training ecosystem that collaborates with organizers and their partners and other industry enterprises to deepen the school-enterprise cooperation at the governance, design and task levels, and formed an "eight-cooperative" industry-education integration education mechanism, internalizing industry needs into professional goals and talent training capacity indicators, achieving deep integration of industry-education collaborative education, and implementing applied talent training for the basic skills and professional practices required by the industry.
