Chengdu Normal University is a provincial undergraduate normal college in Sichuan Province. It is a demonstration project unit for the construction of the teaching staff of the Ministry of Education, a pilot unit of the second batch of artificial intelligence-assisted teaching staff construction of the Ministry of Education, a pilot university for the overall transformation of Sichuan Province's comprehensive reform, a university implementing the Sichuan Province's public-funded normal students and local excellent teachers' special normal student training plan, and a demonstration base for mass entrepreneurship and innovation in Sichuan Province. The school is headquartered in Wenjiang Campus. The school was founded in 1955. Its predecessor was the Sichuan Provincial Education Administration School. It has gone through the development stages of Sichuan Provincial Education Cadre Training College (1964), Sichuan Provincial Education College (1978), and Sichuan Education College (1984). In March 2012, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was restructured into a full-time general undergraduate college and renamed Chengdu Normal University. The school has trained more than 150,000 graduates, including more than 60 national outstanding teachers, national model teachers, and advanced workers in the national education system, more than 150 heads of municipal, state and county education departments, more than 1,100 principals of secondary vocational schools and primary and secondary schools, and more than 10,000 senior and special teachers.
