Historical evolution and school performance: Chengdu Vocational and Technical College of Industry and Trade originated from the former Chengdu Electronic Workers University established in 1991. It is a full-time public higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Sichuan Province in 2015, organized by the People's Government of Chengdu City, and supervised by the Education Department of Sichuan Province. It implements a dual-track operation mode of "one team, two brands" with Chengdu Technician College. The school is a national demonstration base for the cultivation of high-skilled talents, a national school-enterprise collaborative employment, entrepreneurship and innovation demonstration practice base, a national intelligent manufacturing production training base, and a national industrial Internet industry demonstration base. It is a pilot university for the construction of the "one-stop" student community comprehensive management model of the Ministry of Education, a cultivation unit of the "Double High Plan" in Sichuan Province, and a professional group construction unit. Faculty: The school currently has 6 campuses including Pidu Campus, Chenghua Campus, and Xindu Campus, covering an area of about 650 acres, with about 9,000 students and more than 900 faculty and staff. There are 223 teachers with associate senior professional titles and above, 293 "dual-qualified" teachers, and 169 teachers with technicians and above skill levels. There are 12 skill master studios at the national, provincial and municipal levels, 49 coaches and referees for national skill competitions, and 3 experts with outstanding contributions in Sichuan Province. Talent cultivation: The school gives full play to the advantages of the integrated development of "industry and trade-technician". Focusing on the Chengdu industry's "building circle and strengthening chain" strategy, it has set up 7 professional secondary colleges with 34 majors mainly in intelligent manufacturing. More than 30 "national technical experts", more than 30 winners of the "National May 1st Labor Medal", and more than 200 "Sichuan Technical Experts" have been trained. In the past three years, the school has delivered more than 13,000 technical and skilled talents for regional development. The school was awarded the "2021 Higher Vocational College Employment Competitiveness Star Demonstration School", and is the only school in Sichuan Province to receive this honor. Integration of industry and education: The school adheres to "school-enterprise cooperation and integration of work and study". In-depth cooperation with Fortune 500 companies such as Alibaba, Siemens, and China Railway Group to jointly carry out various projects such as teaching material development, technology research and development, and laboratory construction. Among them, the school has worked with Jabil Technology (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. to carry out the "Work-Study Integration Dual Education" school-enterprise cooperation project in depth, which has been selected as a typical case of industry-education integration by the Ministry of Education in 2021 and 20 typical cases of industry-education integration by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education in 2022. In 2023, the four industry-education integration communities such as "Chengdu Intelligent Manufacturing" jointly built by the school, enterprises and undergraduate colleges and the five industry-education integration practice centers built by the school were recognized by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education and recommended to the Ministry of Education. Competition and Education Integration: The school adheres to "promoting education through competition, promoting learning through competition, and integrating competition and education". In 2020, the "Sichuan Vocational Skills Competition Research Center" was established, and under the guidance of the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, it carried out competition activity organization, technical standard research, information construction, and achievement transformation. Social services: The school is committed to serving local development. Together with technical colleges, secondary and higher vocational schools, scientific research institutes, and leading enterprises in Sichuan and Chongqing, the Chengdu Technician College Group, the Intelligent Manufacturing Secondary and Higher Vocational Industry-Education Alliance, the "1+N" Vocational-Technical Integration Development Vocational Education Group, and the Sichuan-Chongqing Technical Education Alliance were established to jointly create a platform for the cultivation of skilled talents. Closely cooperate with the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions and other units to jointly develop 44 sets of training standards, 35 skill training course packages, and 52 training materials, covering more than 60 types of work. International Exchange: The school insists on serving the construction of Chengdu's western foreign exchange center as its goal, and has established friendly cooperative relations with more than 20 colleges and institutions in the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Laos, Spain, Thailand, South Africa and other countries. Cooperate with Lincoln College in the United Kingdom to organize Sino-British e-commerce professional vocational education projects, and cooperate with Pahang Education Foundation University in Malaysia to organize Internet of Things application technology and information security technology application majors to create an international talent center and scientific and technological innovation highland for the information technology industry. As one of the first pilot institutions of the Ministry of Education's "Sino-German Advanced Vocational Education Cooperation Project (SGAVE)", China and Germany jointly organize the "Sino-German Experimental Class". In cooperation with the Chengdu Federation of Trade Unions, we jointly built the "Chengdu Craftsman College Spain Branch" with the Barcelona Chinese Culture School in Spain, and the "Chengdu Craftsman College Laos Luang Prabang Branch" with the Luang Prabang Vocational and Technical College in Laos. We have recruited more than 130 international students from Laos, Thailand, Nepal and other countries, and carried out "Chinese + vocational skills" training for more than 5,000 people in more than 10 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, helping Tanzania develop 5 occupational standards for construction industry positions.
