China Fire and Rescue Academy is located at No. 4 Nanyan Road, Changping District, Beijing, with a campus area of more than 1,100 acres. The predecessor of the academy was the teaching team of the Heilongjiang Armed Forest Police Corps established in September 1978. It has gone through five development periods: the Armed Police Forest Police School, the Armed Police Forest School, the Armed Police Forest Command School, the Armed Police Police Command College, and the Armed Police Police College. In September 2018, in accordance with the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee's cross-military reform, the forces and resources of fire and forest colleges were integrated, and the original Armed Police Police College was renamed and established, and it was established in December of the same year. The academy is a higher education institution directly under the Ministry of Emergency Management and an important part of the national comprehensive fire and rescue team. It implements a two-level management of "college-department", with a full-time student scale of 7,000. It is mainly responsible for the training of junior commanders of the national comprehensive fire and rescue team, cadre academic education, continuing education, on-the-job training, emergency management and fire rescue science and technology research, decision-making consultation and related exchanges and cooperation, and participates in major emergency rescue mobile reinforcement tasks. Since its establishment, the college has adhered to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, faithfully implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions, adhered to the original mission of "educating people for the Party and cultivating talents for the firefighting and rescue cause", fully implemented the Party's education policy, adhered to the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, adhered to serving the national security strategy, serving the development of emergency management, and serving the construction of the national comprehensive firefighting and rescue team, adhering to the school-running ideas of "political guidance, connotation development, characteristic school-running, and quality-based school-running", and promoting the school motto and school spirit of "loyalty and bravery, unity of knowledge and action", "inheritance and innovation, integration and progress", and promoting the high-quality development of firefighting and rescue education. Talent training has distinctive characteristics. The college recruits students from two channels: outstanding firefighters of the national comprehensive firefighting and rescue team and graduates of ordinary high schools across the country. Graduates of ordinary high schools across the country are admitted in advance and "enrollment means joining the team". Adhere to the standards of disciplined force construction, adhere to "school-team integration, teaching-war combination", set up drone detection teams and forest fire fighting comprehensive rescue teams, and normally undertake major emergency rescue mobile reinforcement tasks in the capital area and the country, and comprehensively deepen the integrated talent training model of "teaching, learning, training, and fighting". Professional strength has been steadily improved. Adhering to the school-running orientation of "distinctive disciplines and practical applications", the school has set up distinctive undergraduate majors such as fire command, fire engineering, fire investigation, aerospace engineering, aircraft control and information engineering, emergency rescue command and technology, fire political work, and ideological and political education. It has jointly carried out the "Helicopter Flight and Command" and "Helicopter Maintenance and Engineering" joint bachelor's degree training programs with the Civil Aviation Flight Academy of China. There are currently 3 first-class undergraduate major construction sites in Beijing, 9 high-quality undergraduate courses and course ideological and political demonstration courses in Beijing universities, and 6 high-quality undergraduate textbooks (teaching plans) in Beijing universities. It has been included in the planning and construction units for the granting of new master's degrees in Beijing, and has been approved to run higher education continuing education in Beijing, Heilongjiang, Yunnan and other provinces, and has hosted the National Comprehensive Fire Rescue Team Network Academy. Deepen pragmatic cooperation with the International Civil Defence Organization, the Russian Civil Defence Academy, the St. Petersburg State Fire University, the Belarusian Civil Defence University, Beijing Forestry University, and Xi'an University of Science and Technology. The results of scientific research and innovation are obvious. The school has established the Forest and Grassland Fire Prevention and Suppression Research Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Key Laboratory of Forest and Grassland Fire Risk Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Key Laboratory of Industrial and Public Building Fire Prevention and Control Technology of the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the Key Laboratory of UAV Emergency Rescue Technology of the Ministry of Emergency Management (under construction), the Emergency and Disaster Prevention Research Center and the Emergency Rescue Application Technology Research Center jointly built with the Beijing Emergency Management Bureau, and the Cultural Relics Safety Research Institute jointly built with the Beijing Municipal Cultural Relics Bureau. It has taken the lead or been the main participating unit in undertaking more than 80 national and provincial and ministerial scientific research projects (topics), applied for more than 40 national patents, and won two "Science and Technology Stars" in Beijing. The achievements such as the Wing Loong II long-flight large UAV emergency communication system in which it participated in the research have played an important role in actual emergency rescue operations. The faculty strength is constantly increasing. We have thoroughly implemented the talent strengthening project, adhered to the combination of attracting and nurturing talents, and focused on nurturing talents, and accelerated the cultivation of a group of high-level innovation teams and teaching teams. We now have one outstanding undergraduate education team in Beijing, three ideological and political teaching teams in Beijing universities, three famous teachers in Beijing universities, three famous teachers in ideological and political teaching in Beijing universities, one outstanding teacher in Beijing, and more than 20 backbone teachers serve as experts in the National Forest Fire Prevention Command, the National Fire Standardization Committee, the National Geological Disaster Emergency Rescue Standardization Committee, the National Natural Disaster Survey Expert Database, the Beijing Emergency Management Expert Database, and the Fire and Rescue Bureau Science and Technology Evaluation Committee. We have implemented the "instructor system" and regularly selected outstanding cadres from the national comprehensive fire and rescue team to meet the needs of practical teaching. We have invited well-known experts in the field of domestic emergency management and outstanding management and command, professional and technical cadres of the national comprehensive fire and rescue team to serve as visiting professors. Teaching conditions are becoming more and more perfect. There are more than 90 multimedia classrooms such as specialized classrooms, smart live broadcasting and recording classrooms, and academic lecture halls, 22 basic laboratories such as physics, chemistry, electrical and electronic engineering, 7 professional laboratories such as fire combustion, drone simulation flight, aviation rescue joint innovation center, and firefighter psychological development guidance center, 12 basic training grounds such as fire physical fitness and fire skills, and 3 comprehensive training grounds such as fire rescue techniques and tactics, forest fire fighting techniques and tactics, and drone comprehensive testing, forming a spatial layout that echoes the two campuses in the north and south and the Xifengshan training base, and building a five-in-one teaching guarantee system of "multimedia classrooms, basic laboratories, professional laboratories, basic training grounds, and comprehensive training grounds". Looking to the future, the college will take the promotion of high-quality development as the theme, actively build a new education pattern of "one body and two wings" with undergraduate education as the main body and coordinated development of graduate education and continuing education, and accelerate the construction of a fire rescue college with distinctive characteristics and high quality that matches the status of a major country's emergency management system.
