China Women's University (All-China Women's Federation Cadre Training College) (hereinafter referred to as "the School") is the first public full-time undergraduate women's general higher education institution in China affiliated to the All-China Women's Federation and approved by the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor was the New China Women's Vocational School founded in 1949 by revolutionary predecessors such as Cai Chang, Deng Yingchao, and Kang Keqing. In 1995, the school moved to its current address and adopted its current name. In 1996, the school began to offer general undergraduate education. In 2002, the school was transformed from an adult college to a general college. In 2019, the school officially added the sign of "All-China Women's Federation Cadre Training College". In 2021, the school was officially approved as a master's degree awarding institution. The school currently has 476 faculty and staff and 4,291 full-time students[1]. It has a Women's Development College, a Law School, a Social Work College, a Child Development and Education College, a Cultural Communication and Art College, a Management College, a Data Science and Information Technology College, a Marxism College, a Sports Department, and an International Education College. It has three professional master's degree authorization points: Law, Social Work, and Education. There are 18 undergraduate majors, covering 7 disciplines: law, education, management, economics, literature, art, and engineering. Five majors, including preschool education, law, women's studies, clothing and apparel design, and broadcasting and hosting arts, are national first-class professional construction points, and three majors, including social work, Chinese international education, and human resources management, are Beijing's first-class professional construction points. The school adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, implements the party's education policy, follows the laws of higher education development, and implements the basic national policy of gender equality. It has always kept pace with the country's economic and social development, the development of higher education, and the development of the world's women's progress. In 2021, the Party Group of the All-China Women's Federation approved the "Reform Plan of China Women's College (All-China Women's Federation Cadre Training College)", which clarified the reform goal of "1 position, 1 base, 1 window, and 1 cradle", that is, to build the school into an important position for the training of women's federation cadres and women cadres, an important window for Chinese women's foreign exchanges and exchanges, and a cradle for cultivating talents who serve the society, women's cause, family work, and women's federation work, and a base for research and innovation in women's theory and family construction with Chinese characteristics. The school is committed to cultivating applied female talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor, with the spirit of "four self-reliance", public welfare awareness, international vision and intellectual elegance. It has a group of national, provincial and ministerial teaching teams and famous teachers. The school teachers are deeply involved in the research and formulation of laws and policies related to women, children and families, and women/gender research has formed advantages and characteristics. Through commissioned projects, high-quality research results are launched in the form of women's education and women's development blue books, providing intellectual services for women's work. The school has a family construction research institute, the first women's studies major established in the country, the Global Women's Development Research Institute where the former UN Deputy Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Women's Deployment is an honorary professor, and the only Chinese Women's Library in the country. The school is the implementation unit of the Ministry of Commerce's short-term training project for women talents in developing countries and the master's degree project, the implementation unit of the Beijing "Belt and Road" national talent training base project, and the UNESCO "Media and Women" joint teaching unit, the initiator of the China-Foreign Girls' School Presidents Forum, a member of the World Women's Education Alliance, and the chairman unit of the China Women's Higher Education Alliance. Looking to the future, the school will continue to adhere to the fundamental task of cultivating morality and educating people, stick to the original mission of educating people for the Party and cultivating talents for the country, adhere to the school management strategy of "establishing the school on quality, developing the school with characteristics, strengthening the school with talents, and beautifying the school with environment", uphold the school motto of "respecting morality, loving, being knowledgeable, and pursuing beauty", deepen comprehensive reforms, strengthen the characteristics of running schools, and strive to write a new chapter in building a first-class women's university and a national cadre training college.
