The predecessor of the Chinese People's Public Security University was the Chinese People's Armed Police Force Academy. It was established on April 24, 1981 with the approval of the State Council. It mainly trains command and management and professional and technical police officers for the active public security forces, undertakes the training tasks of my country's peacekeeping police, organized peacekeeping police riot squads, standing peacekeeping police forces, police liaison officers stationed abroad and foreign police, and undertakes the training work of public security organs. In 2000, the China Peacekeeping Police Training Center was officially established in the college. In 2003, it obtained the right to confer master's degrees. In 1997, 2008 and 2016, it passed the undergraduate teaching work qualification assessment, level assessment and review assessment of the Ministry of Education with excellent results. In September 2018, in accordance with the overall deployment of the reform of the party and state institutions, and with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the Chinese People's Armed Police Force Academy was transformed and renamed the Chinese People's Public Security University, and at the same time added the "Ministry of Public Security International Law Enforcement Cooperation College" and "China Peacekeeping Police Training Center" signs, becoming a full-time general college directly under the Ministry of Public Security, and its service orientation has been further expanded. It mainly trains new police talents who are adapted to the innovative development of public security work in the new era for public security organs across the country; trains immigration and entry-exit management talents for the national immigration management team; trains international law enforcement cooperation talents and foreign police for public security international law enforcement and security cooperation; trains various types of peacekeeping police talents for the United Nations peacekeeping cause; trains fire engineering technology and command management talents for social industry firefighting teams; and trains overseas security management talents for relevant state ministries and commissions and Chinese enterprises that "go global". The school is registered in Mentougou District, Beijing, and its school locations are in Anci District, Langfang City and Tianhe District, Guangzhou City, covering an area of more than 1,700 acres. It has opened 7 first-level disciplines, 17 master's degree awarding points and 16 undergraduate majors. There are more than 30 laboratories, and more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial innovation platforms such as the National Engineering Laboratory for Firefighting and Emergency Rescue, the National Firefighting Professional Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, the Hebei Provincial Academician Workstation, and the Ministry of Public Security Key Laboratory of Firefighting and Rescue Technology. There are shooting halls, comprehensive training grounds, peacekeeping simulation training blocks, tactical training bases and other training facilities, with a large number of advanced training equipment and equipment. The school adheres to open cooperation, and has signed cooperative education agreements or established collaborative innovation centers and graduate workstations with more than 10 units such as Peking University; it has established pragmatic and stable cooperative relations with more than 20 similar colleges or practical departments in the United States, Russia, France and other countries. Institutions and academic organizations such as the National Fire Engineering Professional Teaching Steering Committee, the Academic Working Committee of the China Fire Protection Association, the Professional Committee of the China Police Association, and the Emergency Response Professional Committee of the Public Safety Science and Technology Society are located in the school. The school has a high-level faculty team in professional fields with high moral character, superb business skills and vitality. There are more than 840 teaching and research personnel. It has hired 268 experts and scholars such as Fan Weicheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as visiting professors or part-time tutors of the school, and has established a high-level practical instructor pool. Over the past 39 years, 8 people have been selected for various national, provincial and ministerial talent projects, more than 60 people have been rated as national, provincial and ministerial outstanding teachers or teaching masters, 7 people have been rated as national outstanding police officers, 34 people have enjoyed special government subsidies from the State Council and ministerial subsidies from the Ministry of Public Security, and 213 people have enjoyed the reward subsidies for outstanding professional and technical personnel from the Ministry of Public Security. It has trained more than 60,000 high-quality qualified talents, made outstanding contributions to the country's border defense, fire protection, security and social development, and is known as the "cradle of loyal guards."
