Chongqing City University of Science and Technology is a full-time general undergraduate college. The school was founded in 2005. Its predecessor was Chongqing University City University of Science and Technology (hosted by Chongqing University, a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, a high-level research-oriented comprehensive university that is a key construction project of the national "211 Project" and "985 Project", and a national "world-class university construction university (Class A)"). In December 2020, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be renamed Chongqing City University of Science and Technology. The school adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, fully implements the party's education policy, implements the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, adheres to the "local and application-oriented" school-running orientation, takes root in the land of Bayu, serves local development, implements the strategy of "quality-based school, talent-based school, and characteristic-based school", and continuously promotes transformation and development, connotation development and characteristic development. The school has two campuses, located in Yongchuan District and Banan District, Chongqing. The campus is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with lush flowers and trees and a beautiful environment. The school has complete educational and teaching facilities, and the library has rich literature resources to meet the learning needs of all students in the school; all classrooms in the teaching building are equipped with complete sets of multimedia equipment and some smart classroom equipment, more than 170 professional laboratories such as civil engineering, electrical information, mechanical design, economic management, media arts, humanities and social sciences, artificial intelligence and big data, and 9 experimental centers, which have created good conditions for cultivating applied talents. The school currently has 9 secondary colleges and 52 enrollment majors, including: 4 "first-class majors" construction points in Chongqing (civil engineering, engineering cost, electrical engineering and automation, software engineering), and 5 characteristic majors in Chongqing. It is an applied university with "engineering as the main subject, coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law, art, and education". The school aims to cultivate applied talents with "solid foundation, strong ability and high quality", and strives to cultivate students' practical application ability and innovative entrepreneurial ability, and strives to explore the education model combining entrepreneurship and employment, creating an excellent environment for students to succeed. The school is one of the first participating research units in the pilot project of strategic research on the reform of applied technology universities of the Ministry of Education, one of the first pilot units for the transformation and development of Chongqing universities, and one of the first pilot universities in Chongqing to deepen the reform of education evaluation. It has built the only exhibition hall in the country that displays the history of my country's integrated circuit entrepreneurship and development. The school has been successively awarded the titles of "National 119 Advanced Firefighting Collective", "Chongqing Garden-style Unit", and "Chongqing Smart Campus Construction Demonstration School".
