Chongqing Light Industry Vocational College was founded in March 2011. It is a full-time general college approved by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. It is located in the core area of Western (Chongqing) Science City, adjacent to the University Town, covering an area of more than 1,700 acres (including 1,550 acres of Bishan New Campus). The school is a pilot school for the Emergency Safety Smart Learning Workshop Project of the Ministry of Education, a pilot school for the "1+X" certificate of the Ministry of Education, a talent base for the big data industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, an experimental school for the vocational school service for the lifelong learning project for all people, a demonstration school for the construction of green schools in Chongqing, a designated service agency for the comprehensive service of skilled talents in Chongqing, a designated service agency for the comprehensive service of Chongqing Vocational Skills Appraisal Guidance Center, and a training base for emergency rescue for the selection of Chongqing Municipal Vocational Skills Competitions. It is the chairman unit of the Chongqing Light Industry Alliance and the Chongqing Food Industry Industry-Education Integration Collaborative Innovation Alliance, and the vice chairman unit of the China-Europe Intelligent Manufacturing and the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle Testing and Evaluation Industry Industry-Education Integration Community. The school adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, implements the party's education policy, and fulfills the mission of educating people for the party and cultivating talents for the country. Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "strengthening the world and being outstanding", adhering to the school motto of "seeking truth in teaching and unity of knowledge and practice", firmly adhering to the school-running positioning of "based on light industry and skills", with employment as the orientation, project as the drive, reform as the driving force, and ability as the basis, vigorously cultivate great craftsmen, skilled craftsmen, and Bayu craftsmen. Graduates are spread all over the country and are well received by employers. The employment rate of graduates ranks among the top universities in Chongqing. The school has advanced teaching and experimental training equipment, and has built more than 200 on-campus and off-campus practical teaching bases (centers) and 136 experimental training rooms. It currently has the School of Food Engineering, the School of Pharmacy and Nursing, the School of Business Administration (Rural Revitalization College), the School of Intelligent Manufacturing (National Defense Education and Emergency Safety College), the School of Big Data and Information Industry (Chinasoft International Industry College), the School of Humanities Education, the Five-Year College, the School of Marxism, and the School of Continuing Education and Training. There are 26 enrollment majors and more than 11,000 students. The school has a school-level leadership team with high comprehensive quality and strong leadership ability. The current team has 5 masters and doctors, 4 doctoral and master's supervisors, 1 second-level professor, and 4 professors, who are familiar with higher education management and business work. The school and the Chongqing Education International Exchange Association jointly established an international college, and established cooperative relations with many foreign universities such as North Chiang Mai University in Thailand, Udon Thani Rajabhat University, Myongji University in South Korea, and Budapest Metropolitan University in Hungary, broadening new paths for running schools and opening up new channels for improving the academic qualifications of teachers and students.
