Chongqing Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical University (school identification code: 4150012607), formerly known as Chongqing Ordnance Industry Workers University, consists of eight vocational colleges, including Chang'an, Jiangling, Jialing, Jianshe, Changjiang, Wangjiang, Xiche, and Luhua. In 2003, a full-time general college was established on the basis of Chongqing Ordnance Vocational College. On May 27, 2019, the Ministry of Education officially issued a document (Jiaofa Letter [2019] No. 36), approving the official renaming of Chongqing Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical College (undergraduate) to "Chongqing Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical University", becoming the first batch of undergraduate vocational education pilot universities in the country, and recruiting undergraduate students nationwide from 2019. The school is located in Bishan, the western new district of Chongqing. The campus covers an area of about 2,800 acres and has a construction area of 360,000 square meters. The campus is reasonably planned, built on the mountain, with an elegant environment and beautiful scenery, magnificent buildings, complete teaching facilities, a large-scale training center, and student dormitories, sports venues, and life service centers. It is a high-quality campus suitable for living, walking, and learning. In the course of more than 50 years of running schools, the school has gradually formed the characteristics of "originating from military industry, integration of military schools, and serving national defense", "connecting with industry, intelligent manufacturing, outstanding advantages", "school-enterprise cooperation, integration of production and education, and collaborative education". It has successively won the "Top Ten Characteristic Vocational Schools in China", "Top 100 Employment Vocational Colleges in China", "National Double Innovation Demonstration Unit", "National Advanced Unit for School-Enterprise Cooperation", and "National Advanced Unit for National Defense Education". The school is the first college in Chongqing to train non-commissioned officers of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, a standing director unit of the China Military Culture Research Association, a vice chairman unit of the Military Industry Security Industry Alliance, and a national high-skilled talent training base. The school currently offers 17 professional undergraduate majors, including mechanical design, manufacturing and automation, material forming and control engineering, mechanical and electronic engineering technology, automotive engineering technology, automotive service engineering technology, electrical engineering and automation, intelligent manufacturing engineering technology, Internet of Things engineering technology, big data engineering technology, digital media technology, modern communication engineering, engineering cost, modern logistics management, big data and financial management, preschool education, environmental art design, dance performance and choreography. In addition, 41 specialized majors are offered, including mechanical design and manufacturing, numerical control technology, mechatronics technology, automobile inspection and maintenance technology, automobile assembly technology, construction engineering, and accounting. The school's experimental training center consists of a mechanical engineering center, a Sino-German automotive engineering center, an intelligent manufacturing engineering center, a collaborative innovation center for industry-education integration, and a virtual simulation teaching and training center. It has built three training bases supported by the central government, 125 internship and training bases inside and outside the school, including 66 off-campus internship bases. The school's collection of paper and electronic books totals nearly 2.051 million volumes. The school currently has 940 faculty and staff, including 793 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 246 have professional and technical titles of associate senior or above, accounting for 31.02% of full-time teachers; 504 full-time teachers have postgraduate degrees, accounting for 63.56% of full-time teachers.
