In order to support and serve the development of modern transportation industry, especially urban rail transit, railway transportation and smart transportation, Chongqing Urban Transportation Development Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. wholly owned Chongqing Public Transportation Vocational College in 2010. The school is a construction unit of the national high-skilled talent training base, Chongqing high-quality higher vocational school, Chongqing high-level higher vocational school project cultivation unit, the only higher vocational school in the city wholly owned by the municipal state-owned key enterprises, the only higher vocational school with rail transit (trunk railway, intercity railway, urban (suburban) railway, urban rail transit) as the main major, and the only higher vocational school included in the Chongqing rail transit industry chain directory. The school is located in Jiangjin Park, Western China (Chongqing) Science City. It currently has 6 secondary professional colleges, 38 majors, 2 national key majors recognized by the Ministry of Education, 1 production training base, 3 municipal key majors, 3 professional teaching resource bases, and 2 "dual bases". It has been approved to build 2 municipal professional teaching resource bases and 2 high-level production-education integration virtual simulation demonstration training bases. It has taken the lead in forming the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle Rail Transit Industry Production-Education Integration Community and the Southwest Rail Transit Vocational Education Group. The school-enterprise collaborative education innovation practice has been awarded the first prize of Chongqing Teaching Achievement for two consecutive terms. The school currently has about 13,000 full-time students. Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 30,000 full-time graduates and more than 1,000 international students from countries along the Belt and Road. It has provided high-quality training services to enterprises for more than 400,000 people-days. The graduation destination implementation rate has always remained at around 98%, and more than 60% of graduates have joined transportation companies and large state-owned enterprises, providing strong talent and skills support for the sustainable and healthy development of the transportation industry in Chongqing and even the southwest region. According to the school's "14th Five-Year Plan" development plan, by 2025, the school will be built into a first-class domestic and internationally renowned transportation vocational college with distinctive state-owned enterprise vocational education characteristics, and become a highland for the cultivation of composite high-quality technical and skilled talents in the urban rail transit, railway transportation, and smart transportation industries in Chongqing and even the southwest region, laying a solid foundation for building an undergraduate-level vocational college with strong influence in the transportation industry.
