Chongqing Three Gorges Medical College was founded in 1951. In 2006, it was merged and upgraded from Chongqing Wanzhou Health School and Chongqing Wanxian Traditional Chinese Medicine School. It is the only independent full-time public medical and health college in the Three Gorges Reservoir area. The school is located in Wanzhou District, Chongqing, the heart of the Three Gorges Reservoir area where thousands of rivers meet. It is now a national high-quality vocational college and a high-level professional group construction unit with Chinese characteristics. After more than 70 years of wind and rain, adhering to the school motto of "study with perseverance, medicine with benevolence", adhering to the school-running positioning of "based in the Three Gorges, radiating to the west, coordinating urban and rural areas, and serving the grassroots", it has trained more than 180,000 medical and health talents for the Three Gorges Reservoir area and the grassroots of western rural areas.
