Chongqing Applied Technology Vocational College is a full-time general higher vocational school approved by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government (Yu Fu [2014] No. 31), approved and filed by the Ministry of Education (Education and Development Department Letter [2014] No. 81), and supervised by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. . The school has a long history of running schools. It was formerly a social university founded in Chongqing in 1946 with the support of Zhou Enlai, Dong Biwu and other leaders of the Southern Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. At the beginning, Feng Yuxiang was the chairman of the school, and Zhang Lan, Shen Junru, Shi Liang, etc. Among the school directors, Tao Xingzhi serves as the principal, and Li Gongpu serves as the vice president and provost; Zhou Enlai, Guo Moruo, Tian Han, Liang Shuming, Wu Yuzhang, Zhang Youyu, etc. have taught in the school. In 1985, with the care and support of Comrade Li Peng, then Premier of the State Council, the school was reopened and renamed Chongqing Social University. Feng Kexi, then deputy mayor of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, also served as the president of Chongqing Social University. In 1987, the former Chongqing Workers Art College merged into Chongqing Social University. In 2005, Chongqing Social University was transformed into Chongqing Minsheng Vocational and Technical College with the approval of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the approval and filing by the Ministry of Education. In 2014, it was renamed Chongqing Applied Technology Vocational College. The school is located in the higher education campus of Hechuan District, Chongqing, with a planned area of 500 acres and a built-up area of 218 acres.
