Chongqing Vocational College of Industry and Information Technology is a comprehensive full-time public general college of engineering approved by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education of China. The competent authority is the Chongqing Municipal Economic and Information Technology Commission. The college was formerly the Chongqing Workers' Accounting College founded in 1984. It was transferred to Chongqing Vocational College of Industry and Information Technology in 2021. In July of the same year, with the approval of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, the high-quality educational resources of Chongqing Industrial School and Chongqing Railway Transportation Senior Technical School were merged into Chongqing Vocational College of Industry and Information Technology. In March 2022, with the approval of the Organization and Establishment Committee of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, Chongqing Industrial School and Chongqing Railway Transportation Senior Technical School were transferred to the management of Chongqing Vocational College of Industry and Information Technology. The college covers an area of 833 acres and currently has three campuses in Changshou, Yuzhong and Shapingba. The new campus in Changshou covers an area of 650 acres and is more than 50 kilometers away from the main urban area. It has complete and advanced teaching and living facilities and can accommodate more than 10,000 students. The college has 96 training laboratories with a construction area of 260,000 square meters; more than 100,000 paper books, more than 5 million electronic books, advanced teaching equipment and rich teaching resources. The college has a strong faculty, with 60% of teachers with associate senior titles or above, more than 80% of dual-qualified teachers, and more than 100 part-time teachers from enterprises. The college has a large number of outstanding teachers, including the National Huang Yanpei Outstanding Principal, the Gold Medalist of Electronic Technology in the World Skills Competition, the National Outstanding Teacher, the National Technical Expert, the National Advanced Individual in Vocational Education, the National Railway Industry Committee Expert, the China Youth May Fourth Medal Winner, the "Light of the West" Visiting Scholar, and the Chongqing City Outstanding Contribution Young and Middle-aged Experts.
