Chongqing Youth Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1954. Its predecessor was the Chongqing Youth League School. In 1987, the Chongqing Youth Management Cadre College was established. In 2006, it was transformed into a general higher vocational college. It is a full-time public general college organized by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. It recruits students from all over the country. In August 2016, in accordance with the requirements of the central mass organization reform, the school was transferred from the Municipal Youth League Committee to the Municipal Education Commission; in May 2019, with the approval of the Municipal Education Commission, the school and Chongqing Education Management School carried out in-depth cooperation in running schools; in March 2022, with the approval of the leaders in charge of the municipal government and the approval of the Municipal Education Commission, the school and Chongqing Education Management School implemented a comprehensive and in-depth integrated management and school-running model, and the school's main body was moved from Beibei District to Banan District.
