Dalian Vocational and Technical College is a higher education institution directly under the Dalian Municipal Government, one of the 100 "National Demonstration Higher Vocational Colleges" in the country, a national high-quality higher vocational college, a double-high construction school in Liaoning Province, and a Grade A construction unit of the "Xingliao Excellent College" and "Xingliao Excellent Professional Group" projects in Liaoning Province. In February 2019, Dalian Vocational and Technical College and Dalian Radio and Television University were optimized and integrated. The school currently has four campuses in Xiajiahezi, Nanguanling, Puwan and Baiyun, with a total area of 1.032 million square meters. There are 13,537 full-time higher vocational students. There are 853 faculty and staff, including 534 full-time teachers, 393 "double-qualified" full-time teachers, and 245 people with senior professional titles in the school. There are 2 "skill master studios" in Liaoning Province, 1 outstanding expert, 13 famous teachers, 12 professional leaders, 17 outstanding backbone teachers, and 10 outstanding teaching teams; 1 high-end talent in Dalian, 18 young talents in Dalian, 2 municipal teaching masters, 1 municipal professional leader, 2 municipal skill master studios, and 1 person who enjoys special allowances from the municipal government. The school offers 40 majors in 9 major categories, including equipment manufacturing, civil engineering, biology and chemical engineering, finance and trade, electronic information, education and sports, transportation, tourism, public management and services. There are 7 national demonstration majors, 1 national teaching reform pilot major, 2 national higher vocational schools to enhance the development capacity of professional service industries, 8 key majors of the "Action Plan for Innovation and Development of Higher Vocational Education", 4 projects of Liaoning Province's high-level characteristic professional group construction projects, 4 Liaoning Province's vocational education Xingliao excellent professional groups, 5 Liaoning Province's provincial vocational education demonstration majors for industrial clusters, 12 Liaoning Province's brand majors, 3 provincial five-star majors, 2 provincial digital transformation majors, and 30 1+X certificate system pilots. The total number of key (backbone, brand, demonstration) majors at or above the provincial level accounts for 65% of the total number of majors for students. The school currently has 19 training centers and 189 training rooms (areas) such as modern equipment manufacturing technology, modern electronic technology, modern automobile technology, and modern service industry. Among them, the modern equipment manufacturing technology training center, the elderly care training center, and the software technology training base are national "vocational education training bases" supported by the central government. There are three "Liaoning Vocational Education Innovation Training Base" construction projects, including the Automobile Inspection and Maintenance Professional (Group) Innovation Training Base, the Animation Design and Production Professional (Group) Innovation Training Base, and the Electrical Automation Technology Innovation Training Base. In recent years, the school has deepened the development of school-enterprise cooperation in depth, deepened the combination of work and study, and the school-enterprise collaborative education, and widely carried out the "order, customization, and orientation" training model, forming a new pattern of two-wing school-enterprise cooperation with deep integration with first-class well-known enterprises at home and abroad and extensive cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises. Carry out school-enterprise joint training with Intel Semiconductor (Dalian) Co., Ltd., Haier Group, Bingshan Group, Hengli Petrochemical Company, Dalian Metro Group and other Fortune 500 companies, as well as industry-leading companies and local leading companies. There are nearly a thousand cooperative enterprises, and more than 40 order classes are set up each year. The school took the lead in establishing the Liaoning Province CNC Machine Tool Industry Industry-Education Integration Community, Dalian Smart Health Care Industry-Education Alliance, Dalian Preschool Education Alliance and other industry-education integration bodies, and was approved as the first batch of "Xingliao Future Craftsmen" training bases in Liaoning Province. Together with Dalian Machine Tool of General Technology Group, we jointly built the Liaoning Equipment Manufacturing Industry Industry-Education Integration Training Base and the Mixed-Ownership Equipment Manufacturing Industry Production Training Base. With the Chinese-style apprenticeship system as the main training form, we implemented two provincial-level "field engineer" training programs. Based on Dalian Jinpu New District (Dalian Economic and Technological Development Zone), the school, the New District Management Committee, and Dalian Machine Tool jointly led the establishment of the National Municipal Industry-Education Consortium, which was successfully approved. The first batch of consortiums has 28 nationwide, and it is the only one in the province. Together with Rockwell Automation of the United States, we jointly built the "Smart Manufacturing Collaborative Innovation Center". The school also vigorously promoted the construction of on-campus teaching and training bases with "factory in front and school in back". A number of bases such as the JD Mall Campus Training Center, the Accounting and Bookkeeping Factory, the Automobile External Technical Service Center, and the Hong Kong Internet Cube School Factory have begun to take shape. The school also promoted the group-based operation of vocational education, and took the lead in establishing collaborative bodies such as the Dalian Smart Health Care Industry-Education Alliance, the Preschool Education Alliance, and the Automobile Service Industry-Education Alliance. In recent years, the quality of school students has continued to improve. In 2021, the number of students admitted by Liaoning Province who exceeded the undergraduate admission line accounted for 30% of the total enrollment. In 2022, the number of students admitted by Liaoning Province who exceeded the undergraduate admission line accounted for 44% of the total enrollment, an increase of 14 percentage points from 2021. The implementation rate of the school's graduates' graduation destinations has reached more than 95%, and the quality and level of graduates have been widely praised and recognized by employers. In recent years, the school's ability to host vocational skills competitions has been continuously improved. In 2022, it hosted 13 provincial competitions, 4 more than in 2021. The school's teachers and students have continuously achieved excellent results in vocational college skills competitions and college students' dual innovation competitions, and the overall award-winning level is in a leading position among similar universities in the province. In 2022, it won 3 second prizes and 1 third prize in the national competition; 25 first prizes, 25 second prizes, and 23 third prizes in the provincial competition. In the College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, it won 1 national gold medal, 1 silver medal, 5 provincial gold medals, 26 silver medals, and 63 bronze medals.
