Daqing Medical College is a public general college under the jurisdiction of Daqing City. Its predecessor, Daqing Oil Administration Health School, was established in 1965, and Daqing Workers Medical College was established in 1985 on the basis of the Health School. In August 2002, the school began to apply for Daqing Medical College on the basis of Daqing Workers Medical College (Daqing Oil Administration Health School). In February 2006, it was approved by the Ministry of Education and became an independent medical college in Heilongjiang Province. On June 18, 2019, the school was transferred from the oilfield company to the management of the Daqing Municipal Government and became the first college under the jurisdiction of Daqing City. The school currently focuses on general college education, supplemented by adult education and continuing education. There are 15 majors in nursing, rehabilitation therapy technology, clinical medicine, stomatology, pharmacy, medical laboratory technology, midwifery, Chinese medicine, acupuncture and massage, Chinese medicine, Chinese medicine rehabilitation technology, drug preparation technology, drug operation and management, medical nutrition, and health management. The school also carries out on-the-job training for employees. It is the general medicine education base of the Heilongjiang Provincial Health Department, the rural health technician training base, the medical continuing education Class I credit awarding base, the Daqing City general practitioner training base and the re-employment training base. The school currently has 6,121 full-time ordinary college students. The school currently covers an area of 246,000 square meters and a building area of 75,000 square meters; the total value of fixed assets is 120.75 million yuan. The school has the only specialized hospital in Northeast China that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases (Daqing Allergy Hospital) as the school outpatient department. The school's affiliated hospitals are Daqing First Hospital, Longnan Hospital, and Daqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. 20 modern, highly simulated professional training centers that are in line with clinical practice have been built on campus, and there is currently one national financially supported training base project (Nursing Training Center). The school has 10 teaching departments (departments, colleges), 9 agency logistics departments, and 5 directly affiliated departments. There are 271 faculty members, including 148 full-time teachers. Among the teachers, 64 have senior professional titles (including 12 senior professional titles and 52 deputy senior professional titles); 71 have a master's degree or above (including 2 doctoral students and 69 master's students). Among the teaching staff, there have been 2 provincial teaching teams, 2 advanced groups of teachers, 1 new teacher, 3 advanced individuals of teachers, and 1 nominee for the annual figure of college teachers. In the selection of the first provincial general college teaching management quality award, the school won 4 collective awards and 3 individual awards.
