Daqing Normal University is located in Daqing, a famous oil industry city in China, which is known as the "Green Petrochemical Capital, Natural Lake City, and Hot Spring Town in the North". The predecessor of the school was Daqing Normal School founded in 1965. In 1980, it was upgraded to Daqing Normal College with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 1993, it was rebuilt into Daqing Higher Vocational School. In May 2004, the Ministry of Education officially approved the establishment of Daqing Normal University on the basis of Daqing Higher Vocational School. After more than half a century of school-running, the school has worked hard and pioneered, and has formed the school motto of "Self-improvement and Perfection", condensed the school-running philosophy of "Quality-based School, Pursuit of Excellence", and formed the school-running characteristics of "Running Schools and Educating People with the Daqing Spirit and Iron Man Spirit".
