Dazhou Vocational College of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a public full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education, organized and supervised by the Dazhou Municipal People's Government. The school is located in the Southwest Vocational Education Park, at the foot of Rhinoceros Mountain and on the bank of Zhou River. The campus environment is beautiful, the air is fresh, and the transportation is convenient. In March 2022, Sichuan Dazhou School of Traditional Chinese Medicine was merged into the school as a whole to establish a secondary school department. The school is planned to cover an area of 885 acres, including 15 acres of the secondary school campus, 285 acres of the west campus, and 585 acres of the east campus. The school currently has a construction area of 120,000 square meters for teaching buildings, library and audio-visual education buildings, experimental training rooms, canteens, student dormitories, etc., with nearly 50 million yuan in teaching and scientific research equipment, 35 professional laboratories, 430,000 books, 82 standard multimedia classrooms and voice rooms, 1 each of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Museum, standard sports field and Traditional Chinese Medicine Leisure Culture Square, and a planned construction area of 300,200 square meters for the East Campus. The school currently has 10 secondary teaching units, offering 12 higher vocational majors including nursing, Chinese medicine, Chinese medicine rehabilitation technology, Chinese herbal medicine production and processing, rehabilitation therapy technology, medical inspection technology, medical imaging technology, pharmacy, midwifery, Chinese medicine, acupuncture and massage, medical cosmetology technology, and 6 secondary vocational majors including Chinese medicine, nursing, pharmacy, Chinese medicine, Chinese medicine rehabilitation technology, and Chinese medicine health care. There are nearly 10,000 students on campus. The school currently has 433 full-time and part-time teachers, including 22 senior titles, 81 associate senior titles, 126 master and doctoral teachers, and more than 60% of dual-qualified teachers. The school's affiliated hospital is the Dazhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, which is a national tertiary-level hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care, and rehabilitation. The college has signed internship and cooperation agreements with hospitals and pharmaceutical companies such as Dazhou Central Hospital, Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Nanchong Central Hospital, Sichuan Longsen Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Langyou Co., Ltd. There are currently 64 employment internship bases, and it has been successfully selected as the national grassroots Western learning and Chinese medicine capacity building project teaching base, Sichuan Province High-skilled Talent Training Base, Sichuan Province Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Propaganda and Education Base and Dazhou City High-skilled Talent Training Base. The school jointly established the Dazhou Industrial Technology Branch of Sichuan Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine with the Dazhou Municipal People’s Government and the Sichuan Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry, and cooperated with relevant units to establish the Southwest Medical University Postgraduate Joint Training Base, Dazhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Research and Development Center, Dazhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Incubation Center and Dazhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Promotion Center, laying a solid foundation for the coordinated development of "industry-education integration" and "industry-university-research-use". The school teachers have undertaken more than 50 national and provincial and municipal scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Sichuan Provincial Philosophy and Social Sciences Key Project. Teachers and students have repeatedly won outstanding results in various skill competitions, and have won more than 30 national awards such as the National Mobile Internet Innovation Competition and the National "Huajiao Cup" Teacher Inspection Skills Competition, and more than 100 provincial and municipal awards such as the Sichuan Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine Vocational Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the "Integrity Cup" Wandakai Coordinated Demonstration Zone and the Third E-commerce Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of Northeast Sichuan Economic Demonstration Zone, and the Provincial Competition of Traditional Chinese Medicine Classics. Climbing to the top and looking to the future, the school will adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, seize the national strategic opportunities for the development of traditional Chinese medicine and vocational education, closely follow the goal of "one district, one hub and one center" in Dazhou City, and focus on the school's "1338" development strategy (anchoring one goal, building three centers, realizing the three-step development plan, and implementing eight projects), and strive to build the school into a traditional Chinese medicine vocational college with distinctive characteristics and outstanding advantages in the Sichuan, Chongqing and Shaanxi regions.
