Dazhou Vocational and Technical College is a comprehensive full-time public general college with a history dating back to 1940. In 2001, it was formed by the merger of the former Daxian Education College, Dazhou Health School, Dazhou Agricultural School, and Dazhou Agricultural Mechanization School. The school is a pilot institution for the "1+X" certificate system of the Ministry of Education, a school for the exemption of the Ministry of Education's preschool education professional teacher qualification certificate, a demonstration higher vocational college in Sichuan Province, a pilot institution for the modern apprenticeship system in Sichuan Province, a pilot university for the Sichuan Province Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program, a civilized unit in Sichuan Province, a demonstration school for the rule of law in colleges and universities in Sichuan Province, an advanced unit of vocational education in Sichuan Province, a cultivation unit of high-level higher vocational schools in Sichuan Province, a training base for leaders of entrepreneurship and wealth creation in impoverished villages in Sichuan Province, and a vocational skills training base for retired soldiers in Sichuan Province. In April 2021, the municipal party committee and government established the Dazhou Rural Revitalization College in the school. The school currently has two campuses, Xujiaba and Hanjiaba, covering an area of 915 acres, of which the Hanjiaba campus (new campus) covers 770 acres. There are more than 17,000 students (including secondary technical school), 637 faculty members, including 32 teachers with senior professional titles, 161 teachers with associate senior professional titles, 8 doctors and 182 masters; there is 1 member of the National Cultural and Art Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee, 1 expert in the National Vocational Education Teaching Basics Expert Database, 2 reserve candidates for Sichuan Provincial Academic and Technical Leaders, 1 Sichuan Provincial Teaching Master, 1 "Three Districts" scientific and technological talent of the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Department, 2 postgraduate tutors of Chongqing University School of Art and other universities, 6 provincial and municipal model workers, 6 Dazhou City academic and technical leaders, 2 advanced individuals with outstanding contributions to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Dazhou City, and many other outstanding talents. The school has 9 physical secondary colleges including the School of Clinical Medicine, the School of Modern Nursing, the School of Smart Medical Technology, the Normal College, the School of Modern Agriculture, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, the School of Intelligent Construction, the School of Digital Culture, Tourism and Art, and the School of Artificial Intelligence, as well as 3 functional colleges including the School of Marxism, the School of General Education and International Studies, and the School of Continuing Education. It offers 42 majors in medicine and health, education and art, modern agriculture, and intelligent manufacturing, including 2 majors in the professional service industry capacity project supported by the central government, 2 key majors in the innovation and development action plan of the Ministry of Education, 9 pilot projects of the 1+X certificate system of the Ministry of Education, 2 provincial key majors, 5 provincial demonstration construction majors, and 3 provincial modern apprenticeship pilot majors. There are 6 provincial-level quality courses, 5 provincial-level ideological and political demonstration courses, and 1 of the first batch of online open courses in provincial-level vocational education. The school has 2 training bases supported by the central government, 2 provincial-level productive training bases, and more than 180 off-campus internship training bases. The school has carried out in-depth industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation with Huawei Technology Company, iFLYTEK, Dazhou Economic Development Zone, Dazhou Central Hospital, Zhaoji Optoelectronics, Sichuan Environmental Protection, Tianwang Animal Husbandry and other units. The employer satisfaction and student employment satisfaction reached 98.94% respectively. In the past three years, the school has won 458 landmark achievements such as teaching achievement awards and skill competitions, including 33 national landmark achievements and 425 provincial landmark achievements.
