Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a university jointly established by the Gansu Provincial People's Government and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine have approved the "Excellent Doctor (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Education and Training Plan Reform Pilot" university. The Dingxi Campus of Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is an important part of the school's "one campus and four districts" educational pattern, and is the training base for applied talents of Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The predecessor of Dingxi Campus is Dingxi Normal College approved by the Ministry of Education in 2003. In 2013, Dingxi Health School was merged into it. In 2014, the Gansu Provincial People's Government approved the overall merger of Dingxi Normal College into Gansu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and established Gansu Traditional Chinese Medicine. The college’s Dingxi Campus was renamed Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Dingxi Campus in 2015. Dingxi has a warm and cool climate in summer, with an average temperature of about 22°C. It is ranked among the "Top Ten Cities for Summer Tourism".
