East China University of Technology (formerly East China Institute of Geology), referred to as East China University of Technology, was founded in 1956. It is the first higher education institution in China's nuclear industry. It is a comprehensive university with characteristics of geology and nuclear science, mainly science and engineering, and economics, management, liberal arts, law, education, and art, jointly established by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, the Ministry of Natural Resources, and China National Nuclear Corporation. The school is a pilot university of the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, a university selected by the Ministry of Education's "111 Program", a university supported by the "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in Central and Western China", a national national defense education specialty school, a university selected by the National New Engineering and New Liberal Arts Project, a national language and writing promotion base, a selection and training base for Chinese People's Navy non-commissioned officers, and a talent training base of China National Nuclear Corporation. The university has always adhered to the socialist direction of running schools, adhered to the supremacy of national interests and ethnic interests, and kept in mind the mission of serving the national defense and military industry. In order to serve the development of the national atomic energy industry, the university has moved its campus three times and changed its name seven times. It has adhered to the development idea of "established for nuclear energy, famous for nuclear energy, and powerful for nuclear energy", held high the two banners of "nuclear science" and "geology", accelerated high-quality connotation-oriented development, and continuously improved its school-running strength and core competitiveness. It has delivered more than 250,000 professional talents of all levels and types for the national defense and military industry and local economic and social development, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and a large number of government leaders, business elites, scientific and technological leaders and senior technical experts. It has made important contributions to the establishment of my country's status as a nuclear power, the development of national defense science and technology industry and local economic construction, and is known as the "cradle of Chinese nuclear geoscience talents" and "the precious wealth of the world's atomic energy industry". The university currently has two campuses in Nanchang and Fuzhou, with a total campus area of more than 3,800 acres. There are more than 20 teaching units, including the School of Earth Sciences, the School of Geophysics and Measurement and Control Technology, the School of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering, the School of Surveying and Spatial Information Engineering, the School of Chemistry and Materials, the School of Nuclear Science and Engineering, the School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, the School of Information Engineering (School of Cyberspace Security), the School of Software, the School of Science, the School of Civil and Architectural Engineering, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Liberal Arts and Arts, the School of Foreign Languages, the Normal College, the School of Marxism, the School of Physical Education, the School of Fine Arts and Design, the Graduate School, the National Defense Education College, the National University of Defense Technology, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education, the International Education College, the Higher Vocational and Technical College, and the School of Continuing Education. The school currently has 1 postdoctoral research station, 1 postdoctoral research workstation, 1 academician workstation, 3 first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees, 19 first-level disciplines authorized to confer master's degrees, 16 types of master's professional degree authorization categories, 66 undergraduate majors (59 of which are open to students from all over the country), and is eligible to recruit international students in China. It has 5 national defense specialty disciplines in the "13th Five-Year Plan" and 3 first-class disciplines in Jiangxi Province in the "14th Five-Year Plan". The disciplines of chemistry, engineering, and earth sciences are among the top 1% in the ESI global ranking. 20 undergraduate majors have been selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 28 undergraduate majors have been selected as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 32 majors have been selected as star majors in Jiangxi universities, and 8 majors have passed the engineering education professional certification and entered the "first echelon" of global engineering education. The school currently has more than 2,200 faculty and staff, including more than 1,640 full-time teachers, more than 940 with doctoral degrees, 728 full and associate professors, 128 doctoral supervisors, more than 860 master's supervisors, 29 national talents, and 168 provincial talents. At the same time, more than 200 well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, academicians of the American Academy of Sciences, academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and advisers to the Russian president, have been hired as part-time professors of the school. The school continues to create "advanced figures group sculpture" to lead the teachers' ethics and style, and has emerged advanced models represented by "National Model of Teaching and Educating", "National Huang Danian-style Teacher Team", "Touching Jiangxi Education Person of the Year", and "National Worker Pioneer" and "National Party Building Model Branch" and other advanced collectives. The school currently has more than 29,000 students. It has a national experimental teaching demonstration center, national new engineering and new liberal arts projects, national boutique online open courses, national offline first-class undergraduate courses, national social practice first-class undergraduate courses, national virtual simulation experimental teaching projects, Ministry of Education curriculum ideological and political demonstration courses and teaching masters and other high-level teaching resources and national "undergraduate teaching project" college students' off-campus practice education base. It has 20 provincial undergraduate high-level teaching teams, 3 provincial talent training model innovation experimental areas, and 10 disciplines (majors) approved for master's and undergraduate levels. In recent years, it has won 1 second prize for national teaching achievements, 1 special prize for provincial teaching achievements, and 23 first prizes. Students have won gold and silver medals in various international and domestic competitions, such as the China International "Internet+" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the "Challenge Cup" National College Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition, the "Chuang Qingchun" College Student Entrepreneurship Competition, the National College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Annual Conference, and the American College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition. A large number of outstanding students have emerged one after another, including the National "Xiaoping Science and Technology Innovation Team" and "China College Student Self-improvement Star". The school has been awarded the National College Campus Culture Construction Outstanding Achievement Award, the National May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee, the National May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Branch, and the National College Student Summer "Three Going to the Countryside" Social Practice Activity Outstanding Team. It has been approved as a national university science and technology park, a national college student KAB entrepreneurship education base, a provincial "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" demonstration base, a provincial mass maker space, and a provincial innovation and entrepreneurship college. In recent years, the school has continuously increased its investment in scientific and technological research and development, with an average annual research funding of 2.800 million yuan, and has been approved for national key R&D plan projects, National Natural Science Foundation Outstanding Young Scientist Fund Projects, National Natural Science Foundation Excellent Young Scientist Fund Projects, National Natural Science Foundation Key Projects, National Natural Science Foundation Joint Fund Key Projects, National Major Scientific Research Instrument Development Projects, and International (Regional) Science and Technology Cooperation Key Research Projects. It has won more than 80 national and provincial science and technology achievement awards, including the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress, the Special Prize and Second Prize of National Defense Science and Technology Progress, the Second Prize of National Defense Technology Invention, the First Prize of Jiangxi Natural Science, the First Prize of Jiangxi Science and Technology Progress, and the First Prize of Jiangxi Social Science Outstanding Achievements. After 67 years of development and accumulation, the school has built a discipline and professional group with nuclear disciplines as its characteristics and geosciences as its advantages, and has established a "full-chain" talent training and scientific research system covering the front and back ends of the nuclear fuel cycle. It has more than 30 national and provincial high-level scientific research platforms, including the first national key laboratory in the field of "nuclear resources and environment" in my country, the first international joint research center in Jiangxi Province, the "Mass Spectrometry Science and Instrumentation" International Joint Research Center, the "Donghua Accelerator Neutron Source" scientific device, the "Radioactive Geology and Exploration Technology" National Defense Key Discipline Laboratory, the "Nuclear Technology Application" Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center, and the International Atomic Energy Agency Reference Laboratory; it has two "National Huang Danian-style Teacher Teams of Colleges and Universities" of the Ministry of Education, one science and technology innovation team of the Ministry of Education, one science and technology innovation team of the Ministry of Natural Resources, one national defense science and technology innovation team, and six science and technology innovation teams of Jiangxi Province. The school adheres to open education and has established friendly cooperative relations with universities and research institutes in more than 20 countries including Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Ireland, Poland, etc., and has carried out exchanges and cooperation in inter-school exchanges, teachers and students, and collaborative scientific research. It has won the Sino-foreign cooperative education project of the Ministry of Education and the "Chinese and Foreign High-level University Student Exchange Program", forming a complete international talent training system with undergraduate education as the main focus and undergraduate, master and doctoral levels, and at the same time accepts foreign postdoctoral fellows to work in the station to carry out scientific research. Actively participate in the construction of the "Belt and Road" and the "BRICS" Innovation Action Plan, host the Confucius Institute at Tribhuvan University in Nepal, carry out science and technology aid projects in Cambodia, Namibia and other countries, promote the overseas transformation of scientific and technological achievements, establish long-term scientific and technological cooperation relations with the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and establish the "Russian R&D Center for Mass Spectrometry Science and Instruments", and be approved as the first "Higher Education Discipline Innovation and Talent Introduction Base" in Jiangxi Province. Three foreign experts have successively won the "Chinese Government Friendship Award". The school has established a close scientific and technological cooperation relationship with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). It is a member unit of the IAEA "High-Level Radioactive Waste Geological Disposal Cooperation Center" and "Uranium Resources Exploration and Development Practice Center", and undertakes the agency's technical cooperation projects, international conferences and talent training tasks, and makes positive contributions to the world's peaceful use of nuclear energy. The school is a garden-style campus, and has been awarded the "National Advanced Greening Unit", "Jiangxi Province Gardening Unit", "Jiangxi Province Civilized Campus", and was selected as the first batch of "National Healthy School" construction units. The school recruits students and employment nationwide, and the employment rate has always remained at the forefront of colleges and universities in the province. It has been rated as "the advanced unit for employment of college graduates in the province" many times. The journey is long and the wind is strong, and the heavy responsibility is heavy.
