Fujian Jiangxia University is a provincial full-time general undergraduate college organized by the People's Government of Fujian Province. The school was established by the merger of Fujian Economic Management Cadre College, Fujian Accounting Management Cadre College, Fujian Political and Legal Management Cadre College, and Fujian Financial Vocational and Technical College. It was officially established in March 2010 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The history of the school can be traced back to 1957. The planned campus area is 1,388.4 acres. The main campus is located in the University Town of Fuzhou. The construction of the campus was donated by Century Golden Resources Group. The school has successively won the provincial college party building demonstration school, the "three-dimensional education" comprehensive reform pilot college, the master's degree awarding and cultivation unit, the first batch of demonstration colleges and universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, the first batch of 5A-level safe campus, safe unit, civilized campus, May 1st Labor Award, Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Excellent School Award and other honorary titles. In 2018, it was selected as a model applied undergraduate college in Fujian Province, and in 2022, it was selected as a first-class applied construction college in Fujian Province. The university currently has 13 secondary colleges and 2 teaching departments, offering 45 undergraduate majors, covering 22 first-level disciplines and 7 disciplines including economics, management, law, literature, science, engineering, and art. There are 799 full-time teachers, 401 of whom have senior professional titles, accounting for 50.19%, and dual-qualified teachers account for 66.96%. There are 9 provincial teaching and research teams, 73 high-level talents of various types, and 2 national outstanding teachers. Enrollment is open to 23 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) across the country, and international and Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese students are enrolled, with more than 14,000 students. The school adheres to the position of talent training center and takes the path of connotation-oriented development. It jointly trains master's students in 6 professional degree programs including finance, accounting, law, civil engineering and water conservancy, integrated circuit engineering, and public management with Fuzhou University, Fujian Normal University, and Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University. It has 4 provincial applied disciplines, 4 provincial key disciplines, 3 provincial first-class applied construction university backbone disciplines, and 1 university advantage discipline innovation platform project (cultivation). There are 2 national first-class undergraduate majors, 12 provincial first-class undergraduate majors, 6 applied professional groups, 6 service industry specialty majors, 6 innovative and entrepreneurial education reform pilot majors, and 1 provincial curriculum ideological and political teaching research demonstration center. 110 national and provincial courses have been approved. 5 provincial excellent characteristic textbooks, 74 provincial teaching reform projects, 2 provincial new engineering projects and 3 new liberal arts projects, 15 provincial teaching achievement awards; 126 Ministry of Education industry-university cooperation and collaborative education projects, and 20 Ministry of Education 1+X certificate system pilot college projects. The school deepened the reform of industry-education integration, and successively established 8 industrial colleges including the Prefabricated Building Industry College, the Digital Economy Industry College, the Wealth Management Industry College, the Asset Appraisal and Financial Service Industry College, the Lianfa Property Industry College, the Yihe Labor and Personnel Industry College, the Kingsoft Software Industry College, and the Intelligent Optoelectronics Industry College. Among them, the Digital Economy Industry College was approved as the first batch of provincial modern industrial colleges. There is currently one national-level practical teaching base; five provincial-level public basic course experimental teaching platforms, seven experimental teaching demonstration centers, three virtual simulation experimental teaching demonstration centers, and eight various practical teaching bases. The school has been deeply promoting the development of scientific research innovation services. It currently has one academician expert workstation, 24 scientific research platforms such as the provincial 2011 collaborative innovation center, social science research base, key laboratory, university characteristic new think tank, university engineering research center, engineering technology research center, public service platform, university key laboratory, university humanities and social science research base, and 5 provincial-level societies and research institutes. The school has co-built the Theory and Practice Research Institute of Petition Work, the Judicial Administration Work Research Base, the Grassroots Governance Research Center, the Financial Service Rural Revitalization Research Institute, the Intellectual Property Law and Practice Research Institute, and the Rural Culture Research Institute with the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government Petition Bureau, the Department of Justice, the Department of Civil Affairs, the Rural Credit Union, the Intellectual Property Office, and the Democratic League Fujian. Many achievements have been published in the "Achievement Report" and "Bamin Express", and have been approved by provincial leaders and adopted by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and provincial departments. The school is in charge of and hosts academic journals such as "Journal of Fujian Jiangxia University" and "Strait Law". The school continues to expand its openness and has established cooperative relations with 24 universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, France, Belarus, Malaysia, Thailand and other countries, as well as Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and other regions. In terms of international cooperation, it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) of the United Kingdom, introduced the British Higher Education Diploma SQA-(HND) AD project, cooperated with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in the United Kingdom to organize undergraduate education projects in animation, and cooperated with countries such as the United Kingdom, Belarus and Australia to open online exchange projects for high-quality teaching courses. In terms of cooperation with Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, it has implemented the "3+1" and "4+0" projects for joint training of talents between Fujian and Taiwan with universities such as Tunghai University, Chung Yuan Christian University, Wan Neng University of Science and Technology, and the University of Science and Technology of China in Taiwan, introduced the Taiwan Air English project, and established the "Fujian Jiangxia College and Chung Yuan Christian University Higher Education Development Research Center", and the Provincial Department of Education has established a "Cross-Strait Financial Education and Training Base" at the school. At the same time, the school has also established multi-field and multi-form exchanges and cooperation with first-class universities such as Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Fuzhou University, and Fujian Normal University. At present, the school is deeply studying, publicizing and implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, comprehensively implementing the Party’s education policy, implementing the fundamental task of cultivating morality and educating people, comprehensively improving the quality of talent training, enhancing the level of scientific research and innovation, enhancing social service capabilities, promoting cultural inheritance and innovation, broadening channels for foreign exchanges and cooperation, and constantly improving the comprehensive strength and core competitiveness of running schools. We will unite and strive to build a first-class university of finance, economics, and law in the region, and make greater contributions to striving to write the Fujian chapter of comprehensively building a modern socialist country.
