Fujian Police College is the only full-time police undergraduate college in Fujian Province organized by the Fujian Provincial People's Government, which mainly trains public security and judicial police. The college's predecessor was the Fujian Provincial Police Cadre School, which was founded in August 1949. It was renamed the Fujian Provincial Public Security Cadre School in 1950, and the Fujian Provincial People's Police School was established in October 1980. In September 1984, the police school and the cadre school were separated. In October 1984, the Fujian Public Security College was established on the basis of the Fujian Provincial Public Security Cadre School. In April 2000, the Fujian Provincial People's Police School and the Fujian Public Security College merged to form the new Fujian Public Security College. In May 2007, it was officially upgraded to the undergraduate level of the Fujian Police College with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In October 2010, the provincial party committee and government adjusted the school-running system of the Fujian Police College and the Fujian Police Officer Vocational College to establish the new Fujian Police College. The main campus of the college is located on Shoushan Road, Cangshan District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. There are also Jingxi Campus and West Second Ring Campus. The campus covers a total area of 513 acres and a total construction area of 165,600 square meters. There are undergraduate teaching experimental buildings, police comprehensive training buildings, shooting halls, gymnasiums, martial arts training halls, track and field fields, driving training grounds, psychological training grounds, swimming pools, mock courts and other training venues. There are 587,000 paper books, 457,000 electronic books, 288 paper journals, and 8,083 electronic journals in the collection. There are 446 faculty members, including 257 full-time teachers (24 professors (senior), 87 associate professors (deputy senior), 146 lecturers (intermediate) and below; 71 doctors and 161 masters), 49 part-time instructors, and 7 on-campus instructors. There are 4,668 full-time students (including 2,324 public security students, 390 judicial students, and 1,954 general students), and more than 5,000 on-duty police officers are trained annually. The college has distinctive disciplines and majors. Public security and public security technology are provincial key disciplines, and administrative management and combat command are key disciplines for newly established undergraduate colleges in Fujian Province. There are 12 public security and judicial undergraduate majors, including public security, investigation, criminal science and technology, economic crime investigation, police command and tactics, prison science, domestic security, traffic management engineering, drug control, network security and law enforcement, food, drug and environmental crime investigation technology, and public security political work, as well as 5 general undergraduate majors, including law, administrative management, information security, emergency management, and overseas security management. Among them, Investigation, Criminal Science and Technology, Police Command and Tactics are national first-class undergraduate professional construction points, Public Security, Economic Crime Investigation, and Penology are provincial first-class undergraduate professional construction points; Criminal Science and Technology is a national characteristic professional construction point and a key professional construction point of the Ministry of Public Security, Investigation and Public Security are provincial characteristic professional construction points, Economic Crime Investigation and Penology are characteristic professional construction points for the service industry of higher education institutions in Fujian Province. There are currently 3 national first-class courses and 33 provincial first-class courses. The teaching achievements have won 1 national first prize, 1 provincial and ministerial special prize, 5 first prizes, 7 second prizes, and 2 third prizes. There are 2 provincial teaching teams, 1 provincial MOOC applied undergraduate teaching team, 1 provincial network information talent training demonstration base, 5 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 provincial talent model training innovation experimental zones, 1 provincial university humanities and social sciences research base (cultivation), and 1 provincial university key laboratory (cultivation). The college has established 21 research institutes, including the Social Security Big Data Research Institute, the Regional (Fujian) Counter-Terrorism Research Center, the Fujian Red Resources Research Center, the Food, Drug and Environmental Crime Research Center, the Southeast China Anti-Drug Research Center, the Zhangzhou 110 and Police Culture Research Center, and the Institute of Criminology, and has built 10 provincial scientific research platforms. Among them, the Social Security Big Data Research Institute is one of the first 25 Digital Fujian Big Data Research Institutes in Fujian Province. The college has played the advantages of its disciplinary and professional characteristics, actively served the public security and judicial work, and served the society. It has been identified as the Ministry of Public Security Police Practical Training Base, the Ministry of Public Security Physical Evidence Identification Center Criminal Science and Technology Professional Training Base, Fujian Provincial Intermediate Police Officer Training Base, Public Security Police Psychological Training Base, Domestic Security Protection Training Base, Forensic Appraiser Continuing Education Base, Fujian Provincial Network Security Training Base, Economic Investigation Data Practical Laboratory, Fujian Continuing Education Base, Fujian Civil Servant Training Base, Fujian Provincial Excellent Traditional Culture Inheritance Education Base. The college adheres to open education and actively carries out various forms of academic exchanges and cooperation with police agencies, educational and scientific research institutions and personnel in countries and regions outside the country. The "International Police Practical Forum" has been held many times, inviting domestic and foreign police experts, scholars and business backbones of practical departments to give lectures, exchanges and training at the college, providing a high-end platform for public security organs and college teachers and students to carry out high-level police academic exchanges and learning. Since 2010, the college has actively hosted foreign police training courses in more than 20 countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America and other regions, and has gone abroad to perform aid and teaching missions many times, effectively serving the construction of the "Belt and Road". On December 8, 2023, the China-Pacific Island Police Training Center was officially unveiled at the college, marking a new page in the college's service to international law enforcement cooperation, promoting openness to the outside world, and promoting cultural exchanges and mutual learning. The college adheres to the school-running policy of political construction and strict management, adheres to the moral education, highlights loyalty education, deepens the reform of "teaching, learning, training, and combat integration", strictly manages police affairs, and strives to cultivate loyal guards of the Party and the people. Since its establishment, it has trained and sent more than 30,000 graduates to the political and legal organs of Fujian Province, and trained nearly 120,000 on-duty police officers. At present, most graduates have become the backbone of public security organs at all levels, and nearly half of the graduates have taken up leadership positions at all levels in the public security and political and legal fronts, and a large number of heroes and models have emerged. In view of the outstanding performance of the college in teaching reform, practical police training, and security of major events, the Ministry of Public Security has awarded the college four first-class collective merits and two second-class collective merits. Since 2009, the college has been rated as a provincial civilized campus for four consecutive terms, and has won the honorary titles of the National College and Technical School Student Volunteer Summer "Three Going to the Countryside" Advanced Unit and Fujian Province 5A Safe Campus.
