Gandong College is a full-time public undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education, under the jurisdiction of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education and organized by the Fuzhou Municipal People's Government. The school is located in Fuzhou, Jiangxi, which is known as the "hometown of talents and the land of culture". Its predecessor was the Yangtze River College of East China University of Technology, which was established in 2002. Its comprehensive strength ranks among the top 100 independent colleges in the country. On January 25, 2021, Gandong College was transferred and established, and the school scale is tentatively set at 10,000 people. The school currently has two campuses, Yangcheng Road and Donglin New District, with a beautiful campus environment and complete supporting facilities. The total land area of the Yangcheng campus is 64,580 square meters, with a total construction area of 46,800 square meters. The new campus in Donglin New District covers an area of 1,028 acres. The total investment of the project is about 1.5 billion yuan, and the construction area is 330,000 square meters. The school currently has more than 100 sets of teaching and research equipment such as hydraulic transmission training devices, CNC experimental teaching systems, PLC experimental devices, tensile testing machines, and light section microscopes, with a value of 58.59 million yuan. The library has a collection of 603,200 paper books and 1.085 million electronic books. At present, the school has 5 secondary colleges and 32 undergraduate majors, covering eight major disciplines of engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law, education, and art. It enrolls 5,700 full-time undergraduate students, has 364 faculty members, and 280 full-time teachers. 40% of teachers have senior and intermediate professional titles, and more than 95% have doctoral and master's degrees. It has been approved to build one provincial first-class professional construction site (surveying and mapping engineering), 8 provincial first-class courses, 2 provincial teaching teams, 1 provincial curriculum ideological and political demonstration project, 16 provincial teaching reform projects, 16 Ministry of Education industry-university cooperation and collaborative education projects, and 52 provincial scientific research projects. In 2023, students of the school have repeatedly achieved outstanding results in various competitions, winning more than 120 national awards and more than 300 provincial and ministerial awards, and won 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal in the China International College Student Innovation Competition. The school insists on open education and creates a regional talent, science and technology, and cultural highland. It has successively established the "Linchuan Cultural Heritage and Innovation Research Institute" with Peking University, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Jiangxi Unicom, and established the "Gandong Digital Economy Research Institute" with Fuzhou Telecom to serve the major strategic needs of the country and the local area. Establish friendly cooperative relations with universities and research institutes in many countries, such as Inti International University in Malaysia and Shinawatra International University in Thailand, and carry out exchanges and cooperation with well-known domestic universities such as Xi'an Jiaotong University, Dalian University of Technology, Beijing University of Science and Technology, and Shanghai University.
