Gansu Animal Husbandry Engineering Vocational and Technical College was approved by the Gansu Provincial People's Government in June 2004. It was formed by merging the former Gansu Animal Husbandry School founded in 1952 and the former Gansu Agricultural Mechanization School founded in 1958. It is a junior college-level general college affiliated to the Provincial Department of Education. The school is a national high-quality school for talent training in rural revitalization, a model higher vocational college in Gansu Province, a high-quality higher vocational college in Gansu Province, and a "double high plan" construction college in Gansu Province. The school covers an area of 2,200 acres, including 800 acres of campus and 1,400 acres of internship farms. The school building area is 200,000 square meters.
