Geely College is a full-time private undergraduate college independently established with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It was founded in Beijing in 1999 by Geely Holding Group, a Fortune 500 company. Its predecessor was Beijing Geely University. In April 2014, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education and renamed Beijing Geely College. The school actively responded to the central government's call for "decentralizing non-core functions of the capital" and took the initiative to apply for a move from Beijing to Chengdu. With the support of the Ministry of Education, Beijing, Sichuan Province, Chengdu and Peking University, in March 2020, the Ministry of Education approved Beijing Geely College to move to the East New District of Chengdu and change its name to Geely College. The school fully implements the party's education policy, implements the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people, and adheres to the original mission of educating people for the party and cultivating talents for the country. Based on the new development stage, implementing the new development concept, and integrating into the new development pattern, the school closely revolves around the national major strategy of building the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle, implements the development strategy of talent-driven school, quality-based school, industry-education integration, and digital empowerment, and adheres to the characteristic development path of high-quality industry-education integration and digital empowerment. High-quality industry-education integration promotes the cultivation of high-quality applied talents and continuously improves the quality of education and teaching and the level of school management. The school covers a total area of 2,000 acres and has a planned total construction area of 1.2 million square meters. In accordance with the construction goals of a century-old university, adhering to the concept of harmonious coexistence between man, architecture and nature, with the advanced concept of planning and building a dream campus with distinctive digital characteristics, a warm campus with five-element balance, a shared and interconnected smart campus, and an ecological campus with mountains and rivers, we use artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, the Internet of Things and other advanced technologies to build a modern, international, and ecological smart and beautiful campus. The school's idea of running a school is to rely on the group, be rooted in Sichuan and Chongqing, and serve the industry; integrate industry and education, empower with digital technology, and develop innovatively. It continuously optimizes the layout of disciplines and majors, takes digitalization as the guide, promotes interdisciplinary and industry-education integration, and forms a discipline and major pattern with engineering as the main subject, economics, management, art and other multi-disciplinary professional groups layout, cross-growth, and coordinated development. Focus on the construction of majors in the fields of automobiles, electronic information, financial technology, and intelligent manufacturing. Focus on the two trillion-dollar industries of automobiles and electronic information in the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle, and strengthen the "digital +" intelligent technology professional cluster; give full play to the advantages of group school-running and industry-education integration, and optimize the "digital +" economic management professional cluster; adapt to the needs of the people's better life in the new era, and specialize in the "digital +" humanities, arts and sports professional cluster. The school currently has 16 secondary colleges, including the School of Intelligent Networking and New Energy Vehicles, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, the School of Intelligent Technology, the School of Electronic Information Engineering, the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the School of Business, the Saxo Financial Technology College, and the School of Art and Design, and 39 undergraduate majors, including vehicle engineering, new energy vehicle engineering, intelligent vehicle engineering, data science and big data technology, artificial intelligence, and art design.
