The school’s predecessor was the Xinhui County Health School established in 1958. It was renamed Jiangmen Health School in 1984 and Guangdong Jiangmen School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1992. In March 2017, it was approved by the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, approved by the Ministry of Education, and established as a full-time general higher vocational and technical school by the Jiangmen Municipal People’s Government. The school always adheres to the principle of "based in Guangdong, relying on the traditional Chinese medicine industry, taking the overseas Chinese capital as a link, relying on Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, facing the development needs of rural areas, grassroots and traditional Chinese medicine industries, and cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents with characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine; always adheres to the development direction of vocational education, always adheres to the cultivation of technical and skilled talents, always adheres to highlighting the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine, and cultivates batches of development-oriented, compound and innovative traditional Chinese medicine talents, which provide strong talent support for the health of the people in the region, for the development strategy of Guangdong Province's strong province of traditional Chinese medicine, and for the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine culture. It is the first higher vocational college of traditional Chinese medicine in Guangdong Province, the first higher vocational college jointly built by the Guangdong Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Jiangmen City, and the only higher vocational college of traditional Chinese medicine in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The overall planning land area of the campus is 946 acres, and the total investment in campus construction is 1 billion yuan. The college currently has 31 on-campus training centers, and has built a digital library management system and computer network service system. Based on the construction concept of "I am specialized in what others have, and I am better than others", the college has built a scientific research platform worth 70 million yuan; the college has invested more than 35 million yuan, has a Guangdong Provincial Doctoral Work Station, and has built "one museum, one park, one district and four bases". The "Four Bases" are the "Jiangmen Science Popularization Education Base", "Guangdong Science Popularization Education Base", "Jiangmen Humanities and Social Sciences Popularization Base", and "Guangdong Humanities and Social Sciences Popularization Base". There are currently 714 faculty and staff, 648 full-time teachers, 192 teachers with master's degrees or above, 171 teachers with associate senior titles or above, and 326 dual-qualified teachers.
