Guangdong Maoming Health Vocational College (hereinafter referred to as the College) is a full-time general higher vocational school approved by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. It was founded in 2015 on the basis of the national key technical secondary school Maoming Health School with a history of more than 60 years of medical education. It is the only higher vocational college in western Guangdong. The college adheres to the school-running positioning of "based in western Guangdong, facing Guangdong, radiating across the country, serving the grassroots health and health cause in western Guangdong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", adhering to the school motto of "virtue, industry, health and well-being", people-oriented, relying on the big health industry, cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents in medicine and health, and is committed to creating a distinctive high-quality higher vocational school in medicine and health. The college covers an area of 549.5 acres, with a total planned building area of 315,000 square meters. There are more than 400 faculty and staff, of which 70% have a master's degree or above. There are more than 11,000 students. The college currently has five departments, including clinical medicine, nursing, pharmacy, medical technology, and health management and promotion. It offers 22 majors, including clinical medicine, acupuncture and massage, traditional Chinese medicine, preventive medicine, nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, Chinese medicine, medical laboratory technology, smart health care services and management, and modern housekeeping services and management. Among them, clinical medicine, acupuncture and massage, traditional Chinese medicine, and preventive medicine are state-controlled majors. The college is a project college for the Guangdong Province Order-Oriented Training of Medical College Students (early batch of health specialties). The nursing major and Guangzhou Huashang College jointly carry out the "Three-Two-Segment Junior College to Undergraduate Collaborative Education Project". The college has jointly carried out the three-two-segment pilot work of vocational colleges and high-level vocational education with Guangdong Emerging Chinese Medicine School, Guangdong Zhanjiang Health School, Maoming Nanfang Vocational and Technical School, and Gaozhou Information Vocational and Technical School. The college strives to improve its key school-running capabilities. The college has two high-level professional groups in Guangdong Province and one provincial brand major; it has built one national online boutique course, three provincial online boutique courses, and one provincial teaching resource library, and has launched 12 courses on the National Smart MOOC Platform and Xueyin Online. One provincial teaching innovation team and one provincial science and technology innovation team have been approved. A total of 303 projects of various levels and types have been approved, including 180 approved scientific research projects. College teachers have participated in the compilation of more than 50 textbooks. The college has built 7 engineering technology centers in Maoming City, developed 2 international occupational standards and 2 provincial occupational skill standards, and obtained 2 projects from the Science and Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Education, and has 8 practical patents. The college insists on deepening reform and steadily improving the level of talent training. Students participated in various skill competitions at all levels and won more than 90 awards, including more than 50 provincial awards. Comprehensively promote the "Ten Health Articles", create a model school for healthy lifestyles, and improve students' comprehensive quality. The average pass rate of the nurse qualification examination remains at about 95%. The year-end employment rate of graduates in 2022 is 98.18%. There are 7 pilot projects for the 1+X certificate system. The college is the only vocational skill level certification institution in Maoming University. It can now carry out vocational skill level certification for 10 occupations such as public nutritionists, covering 12 majors. The college actively carries out industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation. Maoming Dianbai District Chinese Medicine Hospital is the first affiliated hospital of the college. The college has established clinical teaching bases and clinical teaching and research offices with many hospitals. The college has established off-campus internship bases with more than 80 Class II general hospitals. The college has co-built industrial colleges and on-campus training bases with companies such as "Dasanlin", "Jingliang Optometry" and "Haoxin Home Service". The college has explored the modern apprenticeship talent training model with 25 grassroots health centers in Maoming City and Maoming Mengrui International Confinement Club. The college actively gives play to its talent and professional advantages to serve the local economic and social development. The college has completed the task of training 238 college students of traditional Chinese medicine in Maoming City (Maoming City's top ten livelihood projects in 2022) with high quality, hosted Maoming City's Western Medicine Traditional Chinese Medicine Training Class, and hosted Xinyi City's special training for primary and secondary school health care personnel. The college has carried out a three-year action of "entering campuses, government agencies, enterprises, communities, villages, and families" for emergency rescue skills, and has trained about 60,000 people. The college actively builds the Panmaoming Traditional Chinese Medicine campus culture, carries out the "Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture into Campus" activity, and promotes the Panmaoming Traditional Chinese Medicine culture. In recent years, all the teachers, students and staff of the college have united and strived for excellence.
