Guangdong Vocational College of Finance and Trade was founded in 1973. It is the only public higher vocational college in Guangdong Province. Formerly the Guangdong Provincial Finance School, a national key technical secondary school, Guangdong Vocational College of Finance and Trade was officially established in March 2019 with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, and enrollment was realized in the same year. The school has more than 16,600 full-time students. It currently has two campuses in Guangzhou and Qingyuan, covering an area of about 870 acres and a building area of 310,000 square meters. The school fully implements the party's education policy, adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity, is based in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, serves national strategies and regional economic development, explores the characteristic development path of vocational education in finance and trade, and adheres to the school motto of "Mingde Jingye, Happy Learning and Practicing". In the 50 years of school practice, it has trained more than 60,000 graduates for the society, sent more than 15,000 correspondence students, and trained more than 126,000 financial cadres. According to incomplete statistics, among the financial backbone talents in various cities and counties in Guangdong Province, graduates of our school account for about 23%, and about 30% of the middle-level cadres in the province's taxation and financial systems are graduates of our school or have received continuing education in our school many times. The school connects with the professional group of digital business ecological construction in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, forming a professional cluster led by the professional group of big data and financial management and supply chain operations.
