Guangxi Electric Power Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1979. It was originally organized by the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and supervised by the Guangxi Electric Power Industry Bureau. It is now directly managed by the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is the only public power college in Guangxi, a national high-quality junior college, and a high-level vocational college in Guangxi. The school currently has two campuses. The Wuxiang Campus is located in the Nanning area of the China (Guangxi) Free Trade Pilot Zone, and the Keyuan Campus is located in the core area of the Nanning High-tech Zone. In the 44 years since its establishment, the school has adhered to the school motto of "virtue, learning, ability and action", adhered to the school policy of "service as the purpose and employment as the orientation", and enrolled students from 27 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across the country. There are nearly 17,000 full-time vocational students, making it the largest, strongest and most promising university among the national power vocational colleges. The school currently has 670 faculty and staff, 550 full-time teachers, "dual-qualified" quality teachers account for 64.67% of full-time teachers, and 450 part-time teachers. Professor Liu Jizhen, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former president of North China Electric Power University, is specially appointed as the school's senior school affairs consultant. It has 2 national model party branches, 1 first batch of national vocational education teacher teaching innovation team, 1 curriculum ideological and political team of the Ministry of Education, 2 outstanding teachers of the autonomous region, 2 Guangxi teaching masters, 1 outstanding educator of the autonomous region, 1 Guangxi March 8 Red Flag Bearer, 2 Guangxi technical experts, and 1 chief technician of Nanning. In the past three years, teachers have won 81 awards of various types in professional skills competitions at the provincial and ministerial levels or above. The school has 12 secondary colleges including the School of Electrical Engineering, the School of Energy Power and Environmental Engineering, the School of Artificial Intelligence and Information Engineering, the School of Finance and Management, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, the School of Architectural Engineering, the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering, the School of Marxism, the School of General Education, the School of Continuing Education and Training, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the School of International Education. It has 51 majors such as power plants and power systems, 4 national key majors, 2 national apprenticeship pilot majors, 2 national industry-education integration professional cooperation pilot majors, and 6 provincial demonstration specialty majors. The professional system of the whole power industry chain of "construction-manufacturing-generation-transmission-transformation-distribution-use-management" has been established. The pilot program of applied undergraduate program integrating industry and education has been jointly organized with Guilin Institute of Aerospace Technology, Guangxi University of Science and Technology, and Guangxi Police College. Three central government-supported training bases, one national virtual simulation demonstration training base, one national productive training base, one national collaborative innovation center, and six autonomous region-level demonstration characteristic training bases have been established. One national professional teaching resource library has been built, and six provincial professional teaching resource libraries have been presided over. There are 18 provincial and ministerial teaching achievements. The school actively integrates into the "Digital China" and connects with the "Digital Guangxi". It takes the lead in establishing the China-ASEAN Energy and Power Vocational Education Group, and forms a long-term strategic partnership with the world's top 500 power companies such as China Southern Power Grid, China Datang, and China Energy Construction, and large electricity users such as Baosteel, Liuzhou Iron and Steel, and Nanning Rail Transit Group in cultivating power technical and skilled personnel and developing power technology, serving the transformation and upgrading of the power industry. The school has become the only cooperative university in Guangxi for the "Encouragement with Chinese Universities" project of Rockwell Automation, a world-renowned multinational company, and the only cooperative school in Guangxi for the Beijing Zhongguancun Software Park, a "National Software Industry Base". It is the first higher vocational college in Guangxi that Tsinghua University has cooperated with to carry out hybrid teaching reform, the first higher vocational college that Shanghai University of Electric Power has carried out all-round strategic cooperation with counterparts in South China, and the only higher vocational college that China Electricity Council has issued qualifications for thermal power and substation simulation training bases in the power industry in Guangxi. Relying on the construction of 6 provincial demonstration specialty majors and 7 specialty specialty groups of "double high, three excellent and two special", the school has established 9 industrial colleges including Intelligent Power Industry College, New Energy Industry College, Beidou Industry College, Zhongguancun Zhiku Industry College, Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College, Robot Industry College, Digital Trade Industry College, Smart Construction Industry College, and New Energy Intelligent Automobile Industry College, and fully launched the reform of the new system and mechanism of industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation with industrial colleges as the carrier. The New Energy Industry College was successfully selected as a demonstrative industrial college at the autonomous region level. The school actively serves the national "Belt and Road" initiative, deepens the opening up of education, and continuously enhances its international influence.
