Guangxi Financial Vocational and Technical College is based on the Guangxi Banking School founded by the People's Bank of China in 1952 and the Guangxi Banking Cadre School established in 1953. It was established in January 2014 with the approval of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and registered with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is directly under the management of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Education Department. It is the only full-time higher vocational education college in Guangxi whose mission is to cultivate and train financial and economic talents such as banks, securities, and insurance. It has trained more than 60,000 qualified graduates for the society, spread across Guangxi and all over the country. 70% of the graduates have become presidents and business backbones of major banks in Guangxi, and enjoy the reputation of "the cradle of financial talents in Guangxi". It is now divided into two campuses, University East Road and University West Road; there are 6 teaching departments, including the Department of Finance, the Department of Accounting, the Department of Investment and Insurance, the Department of Economic Management, the Department of Information Technology, and the Department of Tourism Management; it offers 45 majors (directions), including financial services and management, international finance, rural finance, big data and accounting, big data and financial management, big data and auditing, financial and tax big data applications, insurance practice, wealth management, securities practice, e-commerce, marketing, industrial and commercial enterprise management, mobile Internet application technology, computer application technology, media integration technology and operation, tourism management, hotel management and digital operation, and high-speed railway passenger services. There are 10 types of training bases, including banking, securities trading, insurance business, financial accounting, foreign-related accounting, e-commerce, marketing, film and television design, tourism services, and commercial services. With the guiding principles of "top-level design, overall planning, highlighting key points, and distributed promotion", the college has formulated an internationalized school development strategy of "cooperating to the north, developing to the south, and deepening to the east". We actively promote international exchanges and cooperation among schools, and have established friendly and cooperative relations with countries along the “Belt and Road”, such as the United States, Belarus, Poland, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Brunei, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan, to jointly promote projects such as credit exchange, student exchanges, teacher visits, academic teaching cooperation, and scientific research co-construction; we have built two China-ASEAN Business Technology Innovation and Vocational Education Cooperation Centers in Indonesia and Cambodia, hosted the Guangxi-Taiwan College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for many times, and carried out international exchange online dialogues with Indonesia and other activities; we have established school-bank and school-enterprise cooperation with a number of financial institutions in Guangxi to cultivate practical and skilled talents.
